Chapter 30 Fire from the sky

One day the vultures dropped more sticks with fire on the down on the forest.

Carly: Incoming!

Kenai: Fire! Fire from the sky! Does that mean George?

Nicole: Jacob, Carly, John, take care of the fire. Ryan, we'll get the grizzly bears to safety. Grizzly bears, this way.

Kenai: Everyone, follow Nicole.

The grizzly bears followed Nicole and Ryan to a safe place.

Meanwhile by the fire Jacob, John, and Carly were working on putting the fires out.

Jacob: I got this one.

John: And I got this one.

Carly almost got hit with the fire stick. Luckily she dodged it.

Carly: And that one almost got me.

Back by the rocks that Ryan and Nicole got the grizzly bears to.

Ryan: Don't worry. You'll be safe here. Safe from the fire at least.

Then the rest of the wolf guard walked up to them.

Jacob: All clear Nicole. Fire's out.

Nicole: Okay grizzly bears. You're good to go.

Kenai: Thank goodness.

Kenai and his bears leave.

Nicole: George has gotta be behind all this fire falling from the sky.

Jacob: But how's he doing it?

Nicole: Carly? Any ideas?

Carly: I wish I knew. But no matter how high I fly, it's always coming from above me.

John: Well, maybe next time, you can try to fly even higher.

Carly: I'll do my best.

Ryan: And now's your chance. Look. They're falling over Chakula plains.

Carly: Here I go.

Nicole: And we're back on fire patrol. Chakula plains, fast.

They go to put the fires out while Carly flew up to see if she can figure out where the fire is coming from.

Carly: They're coming from up there, above the clouds...

It got a little harder for Carly to breathe.

Carly: Air... too thin... can't go any higher.

Back on the ground the wolf guard was putting out the fires.

John: There. That's the last one.

Ryan: Till the next one.

Carly lands in front of Nicole.

Nicole: Carly?

Carly: I flew as high as I could, but I still couldn't get high enough.

Nicole: It's okay Carly. I know you did your best.

Carly: It's just that certain dragons can only fly so high.

Jacob: Hey, wait. I know somebody who can fly really high. Her name is Kate.

John: Is she a dragon?
