Chapter 21: A happy ending? who knows.

A FEW YEARS LATER

The Apex fell and the world sat peacefully. No one would ever know what happened, why the monsters stopped appearing and the X-Terms became like official police for the city.

No one would know the hard battles that fought all those years ago. No one but four lone fighters and an animal companion. Nox returned to his office and studied harder to be a better doctor but also still trains with his magic and daggers just in case.

It took a few months after Foxe's collapse for him to wake from his expenditure of magic and Genovia was reverted to a kitten after the fusing ending. Alex waited for by his side as much as she could when she wasn't busy with her families business and strengthening her magic.

The following year Foxe and Alex would be married and the year after have two children one with the power of shadow and the other with fire, Noir and Alexander.

Colt on the other hand was always near by and loved being an uncle, always teaching Noir and Alexander how to use their powers. He loved training the new generation of heroes.

"Uncle Colt!!"yelled the children,"Daddy 's being mean again!"

"Oh really now?"laughed Colt,"What'd you two do now?"

Colt could hear footsteps running from within the house and the back door slammed open. There stood Foxe his hair longer than usual and soaked, a bucket in his hand. Colt could only laugh at him.

"COLT!!"yelled Foxe,"STOP TEACHING THESE TWO TO PLAY PRANKS ON ME!"

"But dear Foxe!"mocked Colt,"Who is to mess with you while I'm away?"

Foxe threw the bucket at Colt and then charged at him. He and Colt locked hands pushing against each other wrestling like they used to. Alex stepped out of the house and with blazing fists knocked the two in the head.

"What have I said about fighting in front of the children!?"She yelled at them.

"Well damn did I miss the party already?!"came Nox's voice,"I knocked but no one answered. This brings back the good old days."

At the mention of that time they all grew somber and then burst out laughing, even the kids were drawn in only laughing because everyone else was. Everything seemed so peaceful and lasting.

But as everyone knows peace and happiness can only last so long before evil and darkness rear their ugly heads. So how long could this happy ending last? Who knows. Foxe and his family hoped forever, but we will see.
