Chapter 14: Onwards and Upwards

"You let them go?"Axel's smooth voice grated on Colt.

"Well I figured that we could all have a little fun with those twerps. I even gave them our location so they'd head our way."smirked Colt,"They don't stand a chance against us anyway but it'll be a good warm up for us before our war."

Axel glared down at Colt's relaxed form,"So be it. A little 'fun' can be warranted this once. Try this in the future and I will tear your souk from your body."

Colt shivered slightly and nodded, Axel really needed to learn to stop being so scary. He already had it all planned out each Predator would take a floor and and an opponent a floor between each for rest and at the top would be Axel.

It was a true boss tower like the ones from the old games he and Foxe played as kids. Colt hoped Foxe would catch onto this and prepare accordingly. This wasn't going to be easy by any means especially if they all make it to Axel. But Lorenzo and Malachi were formidable and Foxe's little friends weren't that strong.

"Nox you did a good job with that ice,"Foxe patted Nox on the shoulder,"now if you could reverse the reverse engineering you could have some very powerful magic at your disposal. As for you Alex your Fire Skin is actually pretty advanced and you figured it out in one go, now you need new weapons that will utilize that."

Nox smiled happily and Alex was busy jotting down in her notebook. They weren't very far from the next sector, The Apex's sector 71. They were so close yet so far from they're goal and Foxe hoped that they'd learn some new moves by the time they found they're enemies.

"Nox we should take a day to relax and train a bit before we go any further,"said Alex nose still in her notebook,"Not all these places are ruined and I need a forge."

"Yeah I need a bit of time to figure out my magic too!"said Nox

"Alright guys its time I tried a few things myself."Foxe smiled at them.

Colt sat on his floor and looked up at Lorenzo and Malachi, showing them on a map of the tower what his plans were for the Boss Tower. Pointing at each section explaining the floors.

"I'm sorry Colt but I want to be the first one they encounter,"Malachi smiled maliciously.

"Alright Malachi just remember we are spreading them out and they get to choose who fights us. We are separating them so we each get to have a warm up."Colt smiled back.

"Well I guess it's time to go and have a short wait!"Lorenzo laughed.

At the top of the tower sitting in the middle of the raised dias was Axel, his eyes closed in meditation. Lightning flashed around him filling the room with waves of static his flames burned around him. Suddenly Axel's eyes flashed open and his magic dispersed and with a snap of his fingers a ray of burning blue light shot from the spark of fingers and blew a hole in the ceiling.

"Come to your doom Foxe Leonard."
