Lonely Call: Kidd x Reader 2.2

It has been two months since the incident with Kidd, and you would be lying if you didn't say you didn't miss the red-headed idiot. Law tried taking your mind off of things but even he could see that you were not yourself. You hardly smiled but you at least took care of yourself. Kidd did try calling you at all times of day but you never answered.

Right now Law has gone to work as you stayed home. You were watching t.v before hearing your phone go thinking nothing of it you answered your phone.

"Hello?"

"Thank god you answered." You heard a familiar voice on the phone.

"Killer?"

"Yes, listen I know you and Kidd have not been on the best terms, but you need to come to the hospital."

"What? Why?"

"The last time Kidd was in an accident. He was drinking and driving." Killer said, your blood ran cold as your mind filled with different scenarios.

"Oh my god is he okay? Please tell me he is okay." You said tears brimming your eyes and Killer took a deep breath.

"He is going into surgery now."

"I am on my way now." You said hanging up, you ended up throwing your hair in a messy bun before throwing in a sweater and some tights. You put your shoes on before catching the bus to the hospital. Once you arrived, you went into the emergency room to see Killer, Heat, Wire, and Law. Law was already explaining what exactly happened. Law turned his head to see you and you walked up scared to hear what happened.

"Thanks for coming (Y/N)..." Killer said and you nodded playing with your sweater.

"I have to go into the surgery room, you guys can explain to (Y/N)-ya..." Law said, before patting his shoulder. Killer sat you down and he was quiet for a moment. Your hands were already shaking since he looked worried for his best friend.

"Kidd has multiple fractures, a couple broken ribs, luckily he didn't crack his skull but he lost a lot of blood. He has glass in some of his wounds because he wasn't wearing a seat belt and almost went through the windshield." After he was done explaining it, you covered your mouth and you began to sob. Killer is that you two were pretty close as well pulled you into a hug.

"Oh my god."

"He is going to be okay (Y/N) I just figured since you two love each other you should know. He will survive. Your best friend is an amazing doctor, right? He is the one working on Kidd, you shouldn't worry too much." Killer said and you clung to him knowing he was right but you were still scared. You still loved Kidd with all of your heart and the fact he was drinking and driving terrified you.

Heat and Wire were off to the side since they only knew you were Kidd's lover and now ex. They didn't know you too well so they didn't know how to comfort you in this situation. After several hours Law came back out and you had fallen asleep against Killer from crying. Law saddened a bit to see your state and Killer gently woke you up.

"(Y/N)-ya..." Law said shaking you when Killer couldn't wake you. You woke up and saw Law before standing up.

"How is he?" You beat Killer to the question but he didn't mind.

"We were able to stabilize him, he will be out of it with all of the medication he is on and be in and out of sleep for a bit. You guys can see him, one at a time." Law said and everyone nodded including you. Heat went in first and stayed for a bit before Wire went in. After each person went in they left afterward due to work. It was just you and Killer now and you were scared to go in.

"(Y/N), I think you should stay. After all, you still love him right?" Killer asked and you blushed softly nodding your head defeated.

"Of course, I just..."

"He regrets breaking up with you. Please give him a second chance I think you both would be happy..." Killer said and Law came into the conversation.

"I agree with him, you haven't been your normal self since that day he came to the door," Law said, and Killer relaxed that Law agreed with him. You nodded Law pushed you into the room since Killer saw Kidd. You sat in the chair after closing the door and looked at Kidd's face. You gently stroked his cheap feeling the tears fall down again and you couldn't help but sob quietly. You held his hand and laid your head on the bed saying a silent prayer.

"Kidd, I am so sorry. I would have rather be your lonely call than see you in this state. If I knew I would have not pushed you away. I was only thinking about myself, I am so sorry Kidd." You whispered as you laced his fingers with yours.

It has been a week since you been at the hospital and Law would make sure you had eaten, and Killer would come and check up on Kidd and you with his other two friends. Wire and Heat had slowly gotten closer to you and it became less awkward for you guys. It was late and you had fallen asleep after everyone left, as you were sleeping Kidd slowly woke up.

He was confused about what happened but realized his entire body hurt like hell. He looked around and noticed he was in the hospital room before his eyes trailed to your sleeping face. Kidd was surprised that you were by his side and he couldn't help but smile. He looked at yours and his laced fingers and he tightened the hold. Law came in to check on Kidd only to see the redhead had already woken up.

"She hasn't left your side since you came out of surgery..." Law said and Kidd made eye contact.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I had to pick up extra shifts to make sure she ate, or else she would have disregarded her health for you," Law said checking the machines and Kidd went back to looking at you.

"I see." For once the two weren't fighting but instead looking at you. One with absolute love in his eyes and the one with the eyes of a protective brother.

"Don't hurt her again. Or else I will make sure I kill you." Law mumbles loud enough for Kidd to hear but Kidd wasn't listening as Kidd pushed a few strands of hair out of your face. He didn't need Law to tell him something like that because once you woke up Kidd was going to apologize again. Law walked out giving you two alone time.

Kidd tightened his grip on your hand as he tried not to move too much. This caused you to wake up slowly and look up at Kidd. You met his amber eyes and your eyes widen seeing he had woken up.

"You are awake..." you said and Kidd nodded.

"Awake and in pain..." you let his hand go and gently hugged him so you didn't hurt him.

"Kidd, I am so glad you are okay. I was so worried." You said sniffling, and Kidd leaned his forehead against yours.

"I always make you cry, I am sorry (Y/N)." He said lacing his fingers with yours again.

"You really are an idiot, don't ever drink and drive again got it?" You asked before placing a kiss on his lips, Kidd's eyes widen but he kissed back. You pulled back almost instantly much to his disappointment, but he didn't say anything.

"I love you (Y/N) I really do."

"I love you too Kidd. Promise you won't do something so stupid again..."

"I promise, but only if you give me another chance."

"Of course, I will." You said holding his hand again and he gave you one of his rare smiles.

"Lay with me."

"No."

"Why?"

"You are still hurt... I don't want to accidentally hurt you plus hospital beds are small." You said and Kidd groaned causing you to smile. You kissed his cheek but he turned his head to capture your lips in a deep and passionate kiss. You blushed but you missed the kisses like these but you knew of his fractures and broken ribs so you parted so he wasn't putting himself in pain.

"Stop parting from the kiss."

"You will get all the kisses you want once you heal." You said and Kidd grumbled something about the healing process being too long. You only laughed softly and laid your head on his bed as you played with his fingers.
