TW: mentions of blood (but this time, there's more)
~*~*~*~
New's POV
The shiny hardwood floor was stained with dark and thick blood. As I watched Tay's hands fly up furiously to hold his face while blood spilled from his nose, my heart heaved and a shiver swept through my body.
"Holy shit," Krist whispered right as I stumbled to my feet, body shaking.
Even as alpha was escorted off the court, I stood there stunned. The referees were huddled together, no doubt debating the best course of action in the aftermath of Victor's behavior. I wanted to scream, but I was on the verge of sobbing.
"Newwiee," Krist said, jerking me away from my furious thoughts. "New, babe, are you okay?"
"T–Te," I said, my breathing ragged. It felt like I was going to have a panic attack. In the back of my mind, the entire incident was replaying itself. I shuddered. "Te... he's hurt... Kit, help."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Krist said, anxiously gripping my shoulders. "Calm down, New. You can't freak out like this."
"T–Te..." I squirmed free of the beta's grip. "He's hurt. What if, what if–"
"He's going to be okay," he said. "Look, the medical experts are going to handle everything."
I just shook my head desperately, unable to speak. I looked Krist in the eyes eagerly, on the brink of collapsing. I begged internally, hoping my best friend would understand.
It became unnecessary when Alice spoke up. "You should go down to check on him."
Check on him.
My omega, still shaking with fear, perked up at the thought.
"Will he be allowed to?" Krist asked, sounding doubtful.
"If you're persuasive enough, I'm sure," Arm said as he met my watery eyes. "It's going to be okay."
I nodded, letting Krist grab my hand as he stood up.
"Thank you," Krist said as he yanked me ahead and whispered an 'excuse me' to the group of people who we carefully navigated through. Once we got to the stairwell, Krist stopped for a second, craning his neck to see which way was the best. When he presumably found it, he nodded. "C'mon."
As we made our way down the bleachers and onto the ground, I gripped the beta's hand like a vice, shaking with nervousness and panic.
"Excuse me, excuse me, pregnant omega over here!" Krist practically yelled as he dragged me past the crowd of bystanders to the sidelines. My vision was obscured by tears and sobs as I followed blindly. I protectively placed my other hand on my tummy as some random beta shoved me very violently.
Tu was the size of a cantaloupe and weighed about four pounds since I was officially eight months pregnant.
I was drained by the time we got to the ground. We stopped near the barricades, and I immediately began scanning the area for Tay, but my view of him was blocked by the medical professionals huddled around him. When a member of the staff noticed us loitering, he raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth to tell us we weren't permitted to go any farther, but Krist interjected.
"This is Tay's very pregnant and very worried omega, so if you have any human decency, let us through," he said, gesturing to me.
The medic frowned, then nodded and motioned for us to follow him. He let us in and led us across the cramped space to Tay, who was seated with his nose clutched. The sight of flowing blood filled me with terror and nausea, and I froze in place, trembling.
