For the next month, the group lived within the academy freely under the premise of being guests invited by Vice Principal Elmer. During this period, Yuri has analyzed the market situation of the continent as well as finding some business opportunities. They also helped in a few expeditions conducted by the academy.
Finally, it was time for Seira's long awaited vacation. The group had decided to reside in the City of Fria for a few days before going home.
Fria is considered to be one of the most glorious and developed cities in the continent. It is situated in the vicinity of the Elysian Academy. The entire city is runned by the teachers and the intelligent students of the academy.
At this moment, Cecil was lost in the city of Fria. Initially, he was roaming around the city admiring the advanced technology and inventions while taking inspiration for his next explosion *cough* research. Then he got lost. His sense of direction has always been poor.
As he was cluelessly wandering near a dark alley, he heard a loud sound of something heavy being slammed against the wall just beside him. It scared the shit out of him.
The thing being slammed against the wall was actually a man. The man had brown hair and olive green eyes. He looked brawny. His facial features looked a bit ferocious. Despite being slammed against the wall, he didn't look injured.
He must be meaty as hell. Cecil thought.
You fu*ckers! You can only use underhanded ploys. If you have any guts, fight me straight on! The man roared.
Cecil saw a few people covered in black cloaks come out of the alley. Their faces couldn't be seen. One of them was holding the end of a shackle, which was used to wrap around a short boy covered in a lighter colored cloak. The boy was struggling to be set free. This clearly looked like a crime scene!
"Silence him." One of the black cloaked men said.
At his command, another black cloaked man started to chant his spell and summoned five wolves. This guy was a Summoner!
Summoners were really rare among all types of mages. They usually tamed a few sacred beasts and summoned them to assist in fights. Summoning beasts was different from a guardian as guardians are beings from a higher realm. One could only have one guardian, but a Summoner could have multiple beasts at once.
Cecil was surprised by the Summoner. What surprised him more was the summoned beasts. They didn't look like ordinary summoned beasts. The huge wolves looked extremely ferocious, their eyes were completely dark and their whole aura was gloomy.
One of the wolves moved fast and pounced towards the man who was slammed against the wall. The man gripped on his broadsword and dodged the wolf. He slashed hard at the wolf and managed to make a huge wound on the wolf's belly.
Surprisingly, the wound started to heal on its own! The man gritted his teeth and decided to do something else. He infused his boardsword with mana. The whole broadsword sparked. It looked like tiny sparks of thunder coming out of the broadsword. He moved fast and slashed heavily at the chest of the wolf. This time, the wound didn't heal. The injured wolf disappeared.
Since the man was focused on dealing with the wolf in front of him, he didn't notice that another wolf was pouncing at him from behind.
Cecil, who was watching all the excitement, hurriedly used his magic to save the man. A huge water bubble appeared and surrounded the wolf just as it was about to slash at the man's back. The wolf became unable to attack. The man finally noticed and turned around to kill the wolf. He then looked at Cecil and nodded gratefully.
The dark cloaked Summoner saw that two of his summoned wolves were killed by them. So he quickly chanted his spells and summoned another five ferocious wolves, which looked even more aggressive than the ones before.
