Stopping Mogamett

I look at Aladdin and then at Mogamett, sighing.

"Alright, so we're both Magis, and you knew, but why didn't you intervene and not let us come to your school?"

"I have always been intrigued by Magis since they can perform and do what we wizards do without effort, and the Rukh loves you, Magis."

"And?"

"I thought it would be interesting!" He says, laughing.

"But in all seriousness, I just wanted to see the abilities of you two, especially with having ties to Sindria; I thought I could uncover what King Sinbad wanted from me by sending to Magis here," he says, his expression more solemn.

"Well, with all due respect, Mogamett, after spending time here in Magnoshuttat and even seeing the different classes and the monarchy that goes around here, you're using people who aren't wizards as your slaves," Aladdin says, gripping his bed sheets.

"I love learning magic, and what you teach wizards here on how to use it and what they're capable of, and the technology you have developed is astounding. But...not when it comes to this...making wizards more than those other people who can't use magic. It's wrong!" he says, exasperated.

"I understand that Magis, like both of you, could start to see the way I run things as bad, unethical even, but it just works. And if you knew the history, we wizard long ago were treated like scum and extorted by non-magic folk for our magic and what we could do. I had to rise up so my fellow brother and sisters could live peacefully." Mogamett answers as he stirs his teacup.

"I get it. You want what's best for your family." I say, "But at what cost? The lives of innocent others?".

"If that's what it takes, yes," he answers.

"Then...why are you using their rukh, their life span, to create evil magical weapons?" Aladdin retorts, his voice rising, sounding more annoyed.

Mogamett laughed, "My boy...humans, non-wizards, are only tools for us who are...to use as we see fit to ensure we live better and longer lives. I created this city as a haven for wizards. Since they couldn't irrigate their plants or were in a drought, humans looked to us, the wizards and the freaks, to comply and do what they wanted. We lived in tyranny for ages..." he said as he looked down to the ground and back to Aladdin.

I looked to Aladdin, then to Mogamett.

"I understand, and to be honest, I see why you did what you did, but then what? What are you using that dark rukh magical weapon for? to use against who exactly?" I ask.

Mogamett smiles, sending a shiver down my spine at the cold, placid smile he has on his face.

"Why...the other kingdoms, of course...and that Sindira, the place you two call home...but I might look over it if you both turn a blind eye to what you've seen and know about this place...about us," he says.

he then gets up and makes his way to the door, opening it, stepping through, closing it, and leaving Aladdin and me.

I let out a breath and faced Aladdin, sitting at his bedside.

"We need to tell Sinbad...like now," I say seriously.

"If what he said is true, then...it seems we have a war soon approaching Aladdin."

Aladdin nods.

"I hate to admit it, but...you're right. And we need to stop this, but what about the other kingdoms? If they catch wind of what kind of weapons they have here, then they'll target us here and the innocent people who live here too..." he says, a worried look creeping on his face.
