Lonely Together Ben Pincus x Reader

Together

Light poured in through the white curtains that covered the bright open windows. I looked over and Ben is still leaned against my shoulder. He still has an earbud in so i continue playing music, the music helps put me back to sleep. 

"Y/N!" someone yells from across the room.

I jolt up in a panic scaring Ben in the process. I look over to the corner of the room where Sammy, Yas, and Brooklynn are standing in shock. Ben and I scramble to our feet. While me and Ben are standing up I realize that he's holding my hand. I blush and so does he. Brooklynn lets out a giggle.

"We thought you both were already downstairs eating breakfast." Yas said.

"You both need to hurry up and get ready, the truck leaves in thirty minutes." Brooklynn says with a smirk.

Me and Ben both scramble to our bags, I let him have the bathroom first while I wait on my couch. All three of the girls slowly make their way over to me.

"Sooooo..." Brooklynn says.

"WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU AND BEN!" Sammy yells while we all shush her.

"What do you mean?" I asked knowing what she meant.

"Y/n." Yas said raising her eyebrows.

"What! Nothing is going on! I was just fell asleep with him while I was keeping a look out for him!" I said elevated.

Ben walks out of the bathroom with messy hair he winks and smiles at me, then he continues down the hall.

"What was that!" Sammy asks.

I smile and look down at the floor. I get up and make my way into the bathroom. I finish getting ready and make my way downstairs. Ben is eating a carob bar and I shove cereal in my mouth. I grab Bens hand and we race to the jeep hand in hand. We hop onto the jeep and he sits next to me still holding my hand. Roxie starts the jeep and we all move forward. After a bit of windy roads we make it to a large pile of dino poop.

"So? What are we going to do with the poop?" Kenji asks.

Roxie tosses a shovel and trash bags to Kenji and Darius.

Ben whispers to me "I wonder what they did last night."

"Ughhh, no way you are going to make me shovel dinosaur poop." Kenji whines.

"Well if you don't want to go home you'd better shovel it." Roxie says with a smirk.

"Fine." Darius and Kenji say in unison. 

"Enjoy cleaning this up boys." Roxie says.

"Were going to the genetics lab." Dave shouts. While tossing them a bottle of cologne. "Cologne, that'll help with the smell. And the ladies what-what? But mostly the smell, the stench of dinosaur poo can really linger." Dave says to the boys.

"What? But..." Darius starts.

Dave skids the tires and we all jolt flying backwards.

"So, what's your next video? Ooh, maybe there's baby dino eggs in the lab, everyone loves a baby video." Sammy tells Brooklynn.

"Whatever it is, it'll be cool." Brooklynn says confidently.

Suddenly Ben lets go of my hand, he grabs out a bottle of hand sanitizer. He starts rubbing the contents all over his arms. 

"Sanitizer, who knows what kind of creepy dino goo is at that lab, gotta be ready for anything, the world is a grab-bag of gross and we're all along for the moist, sticky, rollercoaster ride called life." Ben tells me.

"I guess your not wrong" I say while holding out my hands.

He squirts some into my hands and I rub my hands until the content has soaked in.

We pull up to a white building and everyone files out of the back of the jeep, Ben grabs my hand once again and we all walk inside.

"It's so shiny in here!" Sammy exclaims.

I look around some more seeing incubators, screens with DNA on it, and a seperate red incubator with eggs on it. I drag Ben over there and there is a sign above the incubator that says Dilophosaurus Eggs.

"Ben, this is my favorite dinosaur!" I said but as soon as I said that one of the eggs broke open. 

A baby Dilophosaurus peers up at me and Ben cooing. I start rubbing its head and it jumps right into my hands. Underneath the Dilophosaurus sign is another smaller sign that says exterminate. Reading the sign me and Ben gasp, I look at Ben and he nods. He walks around to my back and unzips my backpack setting the dinosaur in my bag. We then made our way over to another incubator.

"Anky-anklo-ankilo-Ankylosaurus." Ben said trying to pronounce the dinosaur eggs name.

"You guys, look, I think one of these eggs is about to hatch." Dave tells us.

Everyone wonders over to the incubator where me and Ben already were. 

"That's not possible, that ankylosaurus has only been incubating for ten weeks." Wu says.

We all stare at the egg that has cracks all over it. The baby in my bag makes a cooing noise and Ben looks at me and winks, I blush and so does he. 

"Is that a tail?" Yas asks.

The egg breaks more and the tail falls out of the egg, flinging fluid on Ben.

"Oh-hh. ewww, ewwww, ewwwwwww!" Ben yells.

Brooklynn takes a picture of him and I give her a dirty look, she then deletes the photo. 

"Get it off me! Get it-" Ben pauses.

The baby emerges from its shell and looks around. The baby looses its balance and Ben and I without hesitation reach out and grab it. Our hands grab one another in a an effort to grab the baby.  We both lift the baby back on the table and the small dinosaur peers back at us with wide eyes.  It had one horn that was smaller than the other, it was tiny, and was a teal blue color.

"Ha, aw!" Ben exclaims.

"Sweet! One of it's head bumps is bigger than the other!" Brooklynn exclaims.

Ben continues talking to the dinosaur.

"Asymmetry! In my lab!" Wu yells.

He storms his way over to us.

"Aw, she's so tiny!" Ben whisper sin my ear.

"She is so cute!" I say.

"We should name her." Ben tells me.

"How about Bumpy!" I say.

"Yes! I love it!" Ben exclaims giving me a big hug.

"What are you going to name your dino?" Ben asks.

"Hmmm... I don't know." I say.

"How about Olive! That's my favorite name." Ben yells.

"YES! THATS PERFECT!" I exclaim.

"We can be their parents!" I yell.

"Yes, we can!" Ben yells.

WU storms back into the room with Brooklynn.

"Time for you all to leave, clearly this group has no respect for my lab!" Wu yells.

"But what about Bumpy?" Ben asks nervously.

"Aw, Bumpy, you guys gave it a name, that's precious." Dave coos.

"The asset will soon be released into a herd of ankylosauruses, then she'll be their problem, just like you all will cease to be my problem when you leave." Wu yells again.

Ben tries to grab Bumpy but Dave stops him.

Wu puts Bumpy back into her incubator, as we are walking out she lets out a small dino roar. Ben starts crying to i wrapped him into my arms. We get back to the jeep and he is still crying. I give him a small kiss on the forehead in attempts to make him feel better. He suddenly gasps and looks up at me with tears streaming down his face. He wraps his arms around my neck suddenly and we both cry together for a few minutes until we arrive at the dino poo.
