Reunited At Last

My eyes were tightly closed as I rest in Ben's arms, we both had anticipated a dinosaur attack. Ben' arms loosened from around me and I looked up at him confused as he took off running towards the bush. I held my eyes shut until I felt something rubbing on my legs. I look down to see my sage green dinosur peering up at me. 

"Olive!" I screamed grabbing her in my arms.

"Bumpy is here too, Y/n!" Ben said snuggling his blue dinosaur.

I made my way over to Ben with Olive in my arms and let him pet Olive, she cooed as his hand made its way down her damp scales. 

"Guys, we don't have time for this, we have to keep moving." Kenji stomped.

"They can come with us!" I exclaimed.

"No, they can't. They will slow us down." Kenji said waving his arms.

"No they wont, Bumpy is so fast!" Ben said scooting bumpy forward with his foot.

Bumpy plopped her behind down and then laid down with a thud. 

"Wow, real speed demon. Say goodbye both of you." Kenji said turning around.

"No! You say hello because they are staying!" Ben yelled. "Let's go!" He said moving towards the front of the line with bumpy close to his heels.

I started after him with Olive close behind me. Olive nipped playfully at bumpy's horn, and she shook her head.

"I've never heard you speak up like that before." I said bumping Ben with my shoulder.

"I never knew I could." Ben said smiling.

"You did good, thanks for making them let us take the dinosaurs with us." I said winking.

"Well, they are our kids after all. What kinda parents would we be if we left them behind." Ben joked.

"We would be pretty awful parents if we did that." I replied.

Time Skip--------Sunset

"Huff, huff, huff... guys the train stop is right up there." Darius said.

"DID WE REALLY JUST SURVIVE THE LAGOON?!" I yelled.

"We for sure were about to die." Ben assured me.

Olive and Bumpy sat faithfully at our sides. Darius raised his hand and motioned for us to move forward; he stepped out from behind the wall only to scramble back.

"What happened?" Yas whispered.

"Toro..." Darius said. "On my signal move forward" 

Darius watched Toro and started to move out, but no one followed him. We were frozen.

Brooklynn decided to follow him, so we all followed her. Silently we made our way up the stairs. Everything was going smoothly until Bumpy, and Olive started to roar. Toro came running from the corner where he was and tried to make his way up the stairs, he kept slipping and falling which made the stairs crack from underneath us. Yas slipped and fell, and Toro's large jaws opened and closed until Kenji pulled her up and ran to the top with her in hand. The white staircase broke, and Toro went tumbling to the bottom. Racing into the train the doors slammed shut and the automated voice came in over the intercom.

"Guys... We made it!" Darius yelled.

Everyone cheered and sat down in the train seats. I sat next to Ben who held my hand tightly. Olive put her head on our knees and looked up at both of us in admiration. 

"At this rate we will make it to the dock on time!" Kenji yelled!

Ben passed around his carob juice and everyone made a toast. Brooklynn stuck her tongue out is pure disgust and I wasn't sure why because it tasted really good. Ben turned his gaze to me as we both watched the bright orange sun set over the long horizon. I wish I could chase the sun with Ben. Olive gently laid on my lap as Bumpy tried to hop on Ben's but he was way too heavy, she let out a frustrated growl. I laid my head on Ben's shoulder as the train glided peacefully along the neverending tracks. Until, the train shook and the lights flickered. 

"Darius, whats going on?" I asked looking out the window.

"The lights..." He said quietly.

"What about them!" I yelled still looking out the window to see a large bird like thing hit the side of my window. This caused my hop backwards and fall onto Ben's lap. He screamed and wrapped his arms around me protectively. The bird cawed and I realized that it was a pteranodon. Olive and Bumpy cowered under the seats.

"Someone has to turn off the lights! Only me and..." Darius said looking at Ben and I.

"I will turn them off." Darius said turning his gaze away from us.

Ben and I could fit. But I don't want Ben to do it. I let go of Ben's hand and hopped through the hatch on the top of the train.

"Y/N!" Ben yelled as Olive tried jumping up to the hatch but she couldn't.

The wind breezed against my face causing my vison to be compromised. I felt a hand on my back. It was Ben.

"You aren't doing this alone!" He yelled since the wind was too loud for us to normally talk.

The train bumped and we fell to the side of the train and held on for dear life.
