"We were children thrust into war
And once it ends
What will we become?"

Wanda hadn't said much during their walk to the training room. The blonde beside her seemed stiff and that light that had occasionally flickered in her eyes the day before was now gone-- smothered by a familiar darkness and emptiness.

She looked Natara over once, feeling a crease between her brows as she took in Natara's expression for the hundredth time before pushing the door open and walking into the room.

Natara's eyes landed on every person in the room and analyzed each and every one of them before she allowed herself to feel safe. A silent breath left her mouth, shoulders sagging slightly and the heaviness returning to replace the momentary alertness.

Her head turned up to look Steve in the eyes as he stopped in front of her, seeing the usual soft smile that always occupied his lips. "Nice to see you," He greeted.

Natara used her limited energy to put a small smile on her own lips, making sure it looked genuine. "Sounds like you missed me."

She saw Steve's eyes brighten slightly and he gave a shake of his head, still smiling. "Yeah yeah. Let's introduce you to the others."

Natara caught his arm move from corner of her eye forced herself to remain still. She waited for the moment his hand touched her back but
realized her mistake when that moment never came. She could feel his hand hovering just above her skin, not touching her but it's presence prominent enough to guide her forward. She shoved the panic away and walked forward, pushing her shoulders back as she stood straighter and lifted her chin. Anxious fool.

"This is-"

"Sam."

Steve was interrupted as Sam introduced himself, putting on a charming and confident grin before stepping forward. Steve just let out a sigh and stepped back

Natara took note of him just as she'd done when she'd walked in, except this time her eyes remained on his face, already knowing he wasn't a threat. "And what do you do?"

Sam's grin grew. He couldn't decide whether to have his eyes on her face or her body. "Whatever you want me to," He replied. The slight bruising along her one cheekbone added to the badass thing she had going. And the sex appeal too.

Natara settled herself down, making her mind clear. "So nothing much," She confirmed and gave one more brief look before turning to the synthezoid she hadn't seen since Sokovia. She'd been told he now had a name.

"Natara Faez," Vision nodded in polite greeting. "It's lovely to see you again. I believe we were all under the impression you'd left. I'm glad we were wrong."

Natara attempted a pleasant smile but even she knew it looked tight. Letting out a single breath she looked at Wanda, the brunette giving her a soft smile which had her lips flickering in response.

Sensing another person enter the room, Natara turned; but no assement was needed. It was Natasha. And so she simply turned back to Steve. "Now what?"

Steve's mouth opened but once again he was cut off. Though this time it wasn't by Sam.

"We're partners." Natasha's hands were behind her back and she looked at Natara with an open and disinterested expression. Her bruises had started fading and due to how light they were, Nat was pretty sure Natara was putting something on them to speed up the process.

Natara felt her head tilt slightly in question as she took in Natasha's expression. Her features were relaxed in a way that showed the person had no particular interest at the given moment. Natara felt her eyes narrow. She was always interesting to look at and didn't appreciate that particular disinterest being directed at her.
