"Something's made you eyes go cold"

"I'll take Natara, Natasha, and Clint," Steve decided, attaching his shield to his back. Now back in his suit, he'd last seen Natara fiddling with the sleeves and fit of hers, making it sit more comfortably against her skin.

"All right, it's strictly recon," Tony answered. "I'll hit the Nexus and I'll join you as soon as I can."

"If Ultron's really building a body..." Steve started, going over the risks and possibilities once more.

"He'll be more powerful than any of us. Maybe all of us." Tony looked at him seriously. "An android designed by a robot." He gave a shrug but couldn't help the anxiety forming in the pit of his stomach.

Steve let out a breath. "You know, I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me."

Tony gave a nod before locking eyes with Steve. "Keep an eye on Natara. We still don't know-"

Fury walked in, interrupting them. "I'll drop Banner off at the Tower." He looked at Tony. "You mind if I borrow Ms. Hill?"

"She's all yours." Fury had just started leaving when Tony added, "Apparently." The director stopped and looked at him, unimpressed with his remark.

"What are you gonna do?" Steve asked him, Fury still looking at Tony who looked right back at him.

"I don't know," Fury responded, looking at Steve now. "Something dramatic I hope." He looked the men over once more before walking out. Steve turned to Tony.

"Natara's fine. Don't worry about her."

Tony held his hands up in defense at the tone. "I'm just saying. The last thing we need is her switching sides. Ultron and her already had a moment back in the scrap yard." He was just trying to look out for him but Steve's expression had gone serious.

"She won't do that. I trust her. She'll be fine."

Tony just sighed, dropping his hands. "Alright, okay. Just be careful."

"We will." With that Steve left as well, heading to the others.

________

"Keep an eye on him. Please."

Natara turned slowly, curious as to how this conversation was going to go. "Your husband?" She asked and Laura nodded. Cocking her head slightly, Natara tried to figure out why she was even asking. Unable to come up with an answer she asked her herself, "Why are you asking me?"

Laura took a breath and stepped forward. Natara's green eyes narrowed as she realized the woman was nervous.

"I know what broken people look like. I've seen that lost look in their eyes the same way I'm seeing it in yours now. I also know it makes them dangerous. Because it usually means they have nothing to lose which also means you'll be prepared to do things they aren't." Laura nodded slightly, risking another step towards the woman with those cold green eyes. "You're ruthless, and smart. Just keep him safe."

"It sounds like you don't have a lot of confidence in your husband's skills," Natara commented.

"I do," Laura replied immediately, confident. "But I need him home in one piece." She stood completely still as Natara's green eyes took her in, only moving to stand straighter. She immediately felt as Natara's eyes left her, the blonde casually putting her gloves on and securing her weapons.
