George's P.O.V.

I decided the following week after the album release to visit Glyn Johns in London before he leaves back for Los Angeles. Lauren and I both decided we would spend the next month or two in New York visiting her home and that I would work on new music with my friends there. Before they have to separate for some time, I wanted to talk to him about Lauren.

She confirmed to me that he was important to her and it didn't feel right to not talk to him about it as well.

I walked into the music studio he produces at normally and he was there talking with George Martin, someone who also has produced us in the past.

"George," Mr. Martin said, "what brings you in?"

"Good to see you," I said to him and shook his hand, "came to check out the studio on my way into town."

I figured I could pretend like that was a fact but still chat with Glyn while I was here.

Glyn was just looking at me as if it were strange that I showed up here as George Martin talked my ear off about future goals for our band. It was tiresome to listen to him go on and nod as if I agreed. I then realized he must have been where Paul gets all of his ideas from.

"I'll show you around," Glyn finally spoke and stole me away to talk alone.

"Thanks man," I said to this man that was once my colleague and friend, but now closer to my wife.

"Did you come here to talk to me?" He asked me directly.

"Actually, yes," I said, "forgive me but I just need a man to man conversation about you and Lauren."

"There is no me and Lauren," he shook his head, "I hope I never gave that impression."

"Well, you guys have built a friendship and so there is a bond there."

"Okay, I suppose that's valid, yes." He nodded and let me continue.

"She cares about you and I know you're leaving to head back to L.A.," I said to him.

"I am leaving for another few weeks. What are you suggesting, I take her with me?" He joked.

I kept a straight face.

"No man. I am suggesting you make your friendship clear to her so she doesn't miss you desperately the whole time you're gone," I said, "and In the next few months her and I will be headed to New York with Ollie... so call her, write to her but please just let her love me."

"What are you afraid of?" He started into my eyes and asked me sincerely.

"That she will long for you and not be present with me in our marriage."

"I can assure you I will make it clear to Lauren that she shouldn't have more than a working relationship with me," he responded, he was being assertive and I felt bad for coming at him with this.

"Do you know who Darrell Davis is?" I asked him after a moment of silence.

He shook his head no.

"He was Lauren's best friend. He protected her, cared for her, gave her a home, loved her," I said to him, "he was her manager and jump started her career and brought her overseas to work and because of him she met the Beatles."

"Where is this Darrell Davis now?"

"Darry was killed in a plane crash in 1966, shortly after we met him and Lauren here in London."

"I thought you met Lauren in America on your final tour there..." he said, "I never knew about her friend."

"She stayed to work on our Sgt Pepper outfits. He returned to America without her for a few weeks and was killed. Her life was spared and I'm grateful everyday for that."
