One week later
"Babe, we can't be late!" Julian yelled from the downstairs. I rolled my eyes while slipping on my sandal. Today is my first doctor's appointment in America and I'm excited. Well not as excited as Julian. He's over the moon.
I hit 21 weeks two days ago and I honestly believe I'm having twins. My belly is so big, and fucking itchy. Julian's been moisturizing it everyday with lotion, while talking to the twins. He wants to be sure they know exactly who their daddy is. His words, not mine.
I made my way downstairs and Julian grabbed my hand. "You look beautiful." He said then kissed my cheek. Ever since we had make up sex last week, we've been on cloud nine. I'm so happy we're back to normal.
We reached the doctor and walked in. I took a seat while Julian went to check us in. This is still so unreal like I have a baby, or two, growing inside of me. There are actual human beings growing inside of me. That's so scary.
Julian sat next to me and rubbed my belly. "You can't keep your hands off can you?" I chuckled as I pulled out my phone. He shook his head then kissed me. I love this side of him, so loving, so vulnerable. It's amazing.
I began texting Jesse because he wanted a baby update after the appointment. He's doing better, hanging with Chris a lot. I believe he and his ex are on the roll to getting back together. I hope they are, I loved their relationship.
"Sinead." The doctor called out causing Julian and I to stand up. She smiled at me then we followed her to the back. We walked to a room and I climbed on the seat as she shut the door.
"Good morning to you two, I see from you faxed over paperwork, you just hit twenty one weeks... how exciting!" She exclaimed and I nodded.
"Only nineteen more to go." I chuckled.
"That's the spirit, and is this dad?" She replied looking over at Julian.
"Unfortunately." I sighed then we laughed.
"You must be stressing my girl out."
He chuckled then shook his. "I'm trying not to, I promise." He said putting his hands up. We shared a laugh and then she put her clip board down. She checked my heart beat, lungs, and blood pressure before telling me to lay back.
"Time to check our princess." She said and I smiled. She squeezed the cold jelly onto my belly then grabbed the stick. She rubbed it on the left side and the sound of our little girl's heartbeat filled the room. I looked over at Julian and he had an expression on his his face that I'd never seen before. My heart instantly filled with joy.
She moved the stick over a little over to the right and we heard a second heartbeat. I gasped then immediately began crying. For some reason, I just knew it was my angel baby. My baby I lost too soon. He's back, I get a second chance with him.
The doctor asked Julian to hit the lights and she switched over to the ultrasound. We looked at the screen and saw our baby girl. She moved it over and there it was. Our second blessing. He sat nestled against his sister. I could die right now.
"I'm gonna see if we can see the gender on baby number two." She said. She moved around a bit causing girl to move. Then she took her chance.
"It's a little boy."
I looked over a Julian and he looked like the happiest man in the world. I knew he always wanted a boy. We stared at the screen in awe. This is the best day ever. She wrapped up the ultrasound and cleaned me up.
She grabbed two sets of pictures and handed them to me. "You're healthy, your babies are perfect... just be sure to take self care days for yourself, eat healthy, and surround yourself with love." She said. I nodded then thanked her before we left.
