18 miles out.

That's how far Rick and Shane went ten minutes ago. (Y/n) couldn't help but worry about them. If anything happens to them, no one will figure out if they're breathing or lifeless.

Piece after piece, (Y/n) munched on the cucumber slices, not noticing Maggie who stood there with a little relieved smile on her face. (Y/n) is finally eating healthy amounts of food ever since she arrived here.

"I've never seen you eat furiously before, must be a binge eater when you get nervous huh?" Maggie walked up to the other lady, grabbing a slice to eat alongside her.

(Y/n) looked at Maggie with her cheeks stuffed, causing the brunette to spit the bite out. Maggie crouched with her arms clutching her stomach, cracking up at (Y/n)'s face.

"Calm down (N/n)! The food isn't going to run." Maggie wiped away her tears, trying to contain her laughter. "You may choke, and I don't want that to happen. So chew slowly and swallow it." Maggie rubbed (Y/n)'s back soothingly.

Doing as told, (Y/n) swallowed the huge amount of cucumber mush in her mouth.

Currently, it's noon, Shane and Rick decided to go out to get some necessities such as food and clothing for winter. (Y/n) was forced to stay here, thanks to Shane tying her up on the dining chair, abandoning her there until Maggie came out of Beth's room.

"I'm pissed off yet worried about them." (Y/n) sighed a little, leaning back against the counter.

"I mean when I saw you tied up, it was quite funny. You nearly fell aside from thrashing around." A giggle left Maggie's mouth as she was preparing Beth's food.

(Y/n) seemed to be deep in thoughts, until she remembered something that made her blood run cold. Standing straight abruptly nearly made Maggie cut off her finger.

"What happened?!" Maggie worriedly asked, putting down the knife and vegetables. (Y/n) is her top priority and she thought something might've happened to the lady.

"I got to go, please if anyone asked where am I, telling them out in the woods. I'm going to Shane and Rick, but keep this between us, please. Shane took my gun, and my gun has no ammo. Rick most likely has around ten bullets, and if he wants to protect himself and Shane, that won't be enough.

"You're not doing that, they're capable enough to take care of themselves. (Y/n), you don't have to be their savior!" Maggie placed both hands against either side of the counter, pinning (Y/n).

"They're risking their lives to bring us more supplies for winter. Meanwhile I'm just here snacking on cucumbers, not having a single goal. Maggie please." (Y/n) looked at Maggie, who had a hesitant expression.

"All right... but this is the last time I do something so stupid. You always tend to attract bad luck, and right now I need you to act on your survival instinct. If you see danger, run." Maggie's hands tightened onto the counter, hating herself for agreeing to this suicide mission.

Feeling soft pair of lips against her cheek, Maggie felt at ease. (Y/n) kissed her in gratitude, and even though it was innocent, Maggie's heart was racing.

"I truly am grateful to have you, now I'm got to go. See you later, I promise I'm not dying." With that mentioned, (Y/n) escaped Maggie, leaving Maggie to regret things all alone.

(Y/n) tried to sneak out without anyone noticing, which was successful. She grabbed some ammunition, placing them in her little handbag.

Pushing away the guilt of taking Lori's car keys, (Y/n) hopped in and drove swiftly to the destination.

"Eighteen miles out..." (Y/n) muttered, stepping more onto the pedal to go faster. It was obvious that she wasn't scared of speeding. There was no one with her in the car, so she doesn't have to worry about anyone's safety.
