Dabi and I walked through the crowds, our faces covered. I held Yuki's hand while we walked through an Outlet Mall, she tugged me through the stores looking at all the clothes. Dabi stood beside us not speaking much, every once and while I'd smile at him (not like he can tell). He was on his phone scrolling away most of the time.
We were sitting at a table while Yuki ate happily, I just had a drink. Not alcoholic. Dabi said no. "How is it Yuki?" I smiled sipping on my drink, sticking the straw under my mask to make sure no one can see.
"It's really good!" She said with her mouth full. I nod and turn to Dabi, he glances over at me.
"What have you been so invested in?" I lean over the table pointing at his phone.
"Looking for an apartment, it already feels cramped with just the two of us and now we got your sister." He sighed looking up at me, he slides his phone over to me. "I saved a few. What do you think?" I pick the phone up and flip through the pictures and houses while we relax in the food court.
"This one." I slide the phone back to him. "The rent is pretty cheep and it's still not too far from where we currently are. Makes work easier." He nods and types a little.
"Alright, I'll see if I can get it. Gotta move... everything." He glances around for a moment before fixing his hood. "We should go." He mumbles and I nod not questioning him.
"Come on, Yuki, let's head back."
We walk through the crowd keeping our heads down, people walked by talking and chatting up a storm. Yuki was in my arms, I held a few bags but Dabi had a lot of them. We walked not saying a word to each other, I felt uneasy about my surroundings. My eyes looked around trying to find what was causing this feeling... but nothing looked strange. Yuki leaned on my shoulder and held onto my sweatshirt tightly. Dabi walked ahead of me, he seemed rather tense. "Hurry." He mumbles out, I barely hear him over the crowd.
Once we are a ways down the road he stops down an alley. "What's up?" I ask placing Yuki on the pavement, she takes a bag from my hand.
"There were heroes. They looked like they were looking for something." He grumbles out before taking off his glasses to rub his eyes.
"Did someone recognize us? Did they call the heroes?" I ask quickly, my hands pulling on my hood a bit.
"I don't know, but at least we left in time."
"Why did we run from the heroes Sis?" Yuki asked tugging on my— Dabi's shirt. I kneel down to her height and smile widely to her, pulling my mask down to show my face.
"It's because heroes aren't really the 'good' guys, they just do it for money and power. Okay? So, I'm trying to reveal that and they don't want me to." I explain to her, I lied. I knew not all of it was a lie but she doesn't need to know who I really am... or what I do. I mean our parents basically did the same thing. They lied. They hid the truth for our sakes. A little white lie can't hurt you... right?
We return home and I remove my disguise quickly. I place the bags down on the floor beside the door. Yuki runs in and jumps on the couch without a second thought. Dabi gestures for me to follow and I do, he leads me into the kitchen. He pulls a bottle of vodka out and smirks. "Just a little." I nod and grab it and then the shaker. I mix a drink to my liking and savor the moment. As soon as the liquid touches my tongue I felt dopamine hit my brain. I was suddenly so much more relaxed now, I hadn't realized how tense I was. He moves behind me and wraps his hands around my waist. I knew this was only for me, only something I was aloud to see. I loved it. He places a kiss atop my head, I take another sip. "I'm glad you're over being embarrassed about this morning." He chuckles, he places his chin atop my head. I turn red at the title he gave me this morning and remembering my sister flipping out over the claim. I didn't correct him but I was beat red and looking away from both of them. "Or are you still a mess for me~" His tone deepening and making my heart flutter. My face grows very warm, my hand tightening around the glass. "Someone's tense~"
"Fuck you, stop flirting with me." I whisper to him, drinking more.
"Maybe another time~" he lets go and leaves the kitchen without another word.
...Aoki's POV...
"Damn it." I sighed out after scouting out the whole mall. "Where would they have gone?" I walk over to Kamui Woods crossing my arms. "They aren't here, if they were they'd be gone now."
"Go talk to the witness and get any extra information you can." He waves me off looking around. I nod and walk over to an older woman, she sat on a bench looking through her purse.
"Hello, ma'am, do you have any other information for us we can work with?" I ask smiling down at her, she thinks for a moment before remembering something.
"There was a girl, she couldn't have been less then six." She pauses before continuing, "nothing else stood out."
"Okay, thank you ma'am." I walk away from the woman.
'Does (L/N) have a kid? No, that's not possible. If the kid is at least six she would have been in school. I don't remember her ever taking time off to hide it. Maybe it's his, I mean we don't know anything about this 'Dabi' guy.' My mind was spinning with thoughts and questions. I still couldn't believe she went from the road to be a powerful hero to being a villain that wasn't afraid to kill. I knew she was skilled and that's what made her dangerous, she was trained by professionals and knew what she was doing. Her quirk is perfect for villainy.
