Her hair flowed in the wind as she stared over the city, she was waiting for her beloved. The man that made her heart pound and her head feel light. She created small forcefields to pass the time, stepping on them to make her appear to be floating over the building's edge. She hadn't seen him in a week and it was killing her. She had exciting news to share and an embrace she desperately wanted to have. As she stood over the edge, teetering from side to side, testing her balance. I pair of arms wrapped around her waist gently pulling her back to the firm rooftop. "Hello, my little daredevil." He whispered softly in her ear making her spine tingle with happiness.
"Hello~" she replied leaning back into his chest.
"Sorry I was gone for so long, the gang would not let me leave 'til that bastard was killed." He cursed, tightening his grip on me.
"It's fine, you're here now that's all that matters." Her voice was hushed, barely above a whisper. She twists her body leaning into his own, smiling up at the man. Plasters were placed around his face, his eye was bruised clearly the mission had ended in quite the scuffle. His face held love and softness that she longed to see. She tugged him down placing a kiss on his lips taste the iron of his split lip. He smiled wider and returned the kiss with no hesitation.
"Hey, want to head home? I stopped by there but someone was hiding on this rooftop." He leaned into her and placed his head on her shoulder. "Why are you here?"
She let out a soft laugh allowing the memory of him professing his love for her, how nervous and vulnerable he was that night. "Well... I wanted to tell you something rather important." Her tone was playful but he knew it had to be serious to some degree.
"What is it, Rin?" He lifts his head and studies her face closely, looking for any worry.
"Goro, I love you with all my heart, and I'm very happy to spend the rest of my time with you," she starts, running her hands up his arms gently in a reassuring way. "Goro, it's not just going to be us soon, someone will join this relationship." She whispers out, eyes trained on his chest, part of her was afraid to gaze into his eyes.
"Rin, I need you to be clearer. I-I don't want to read the wrong message." His voice wavered slightly, Rin could feel the tension grow slowly.
"Love of my life," she finally met his gaze. All of a sudden worry melted away since his eyes didn't stop holding love and care. "I'm pregnant."
In a flash, his face held a dumb lovestruck smile, he radiated pure joy. The tension was gone and the pair happily embraced, so happy for the family they so desperately wanted to start. Suddenly, Goro kissed her forehead and looked a little panicked at a sudden thought. "We have to run. Run away from my family, from all of this. If my family finds out they'll..." Goro was fully panicking, clearly spiraling.
"Honey, Honey, breathe. What is it? I thought your family was cool with this relationship?" Rin asked, placing a hand on his cheek.
"They were; until, my brother, Danuja decided that he'd embarrass his fiancée and now they want to change his arrange marriage to myself." He sighed deeply, I was told only a few days ago.
Rin was frozen, she didn't know what to say or do. This was supposed to be their future, they were supposed to start a family and raise them in the comfort of his fortune. To tell the truth, she wasn't worried for them, but for their child that sat in her womb. "Where will we go?" Her voice was low and barely above a whisper, Rin wanted this to work and for her happily ever after to happen, but she wasn't dumb. She knew that if they end up on the streets, begging, barely pulling through that they might have to separate to save the child's life.
"Across Japan, we can rent a place under new names, I can move some money into a few private accounts so we can have some savings and we'll go straight. Get actual jobs and earn a living. We can make this work, I promise." He tries to comfort his love's running mind, his hands combing through her hair like he's done to calm his own nerves over and over.
"O-okay, I trust you," She grabs his arm and squeezes it gently, "To the moon and back."
The pair escape the city and head north to lay low for a few months until their first daughter is born. They lived as a middle-class family in a decent part of town in an okay apartment complex. Their daughter was the best thing they could ever imagine, besides the lack of sleep. She was their new future, their hopes and dreams felt obsolete compared to her innocent smile. As time moved on Rin ended up pregnant again with the second. They found out while planning for their small wedding, meaning any dress fittings were basically useless. They married during her third trimester and had their son a few weeks later. They were happy, everything felt amazing. No matter what happened they'd face it together.
Only a fire could end the love for their children, and the happiness they held for their shared life.
