Rin sat with her hands neatly folded in an armchair, she stared at the clock as it slowly tick. Her emotions remained calm despite her wanting to wring her child by the neck. Of course, she'd never do so but she was tired of this behavior. Her husband left to pick up the two youngest from daycare. As soon as the clock struck 4 pm her other children barreled through the front door. Kenji and Ekio were chatting and deciding on a movie for tonight's family time. The oldest slinks in trying to hide behind her hand. Rin stands and walks over grabbing the girl's backpack by the loop. She tries to slip out of the straps only to be blocked by a huge invisible wall. "Where do you think you are going?" The woman's voice was clearly dissatisfied with the child's recent behavior.
"To do my homework." The girl responds not looking at her mother.
"(Y/N)... why did you do it?" The woman was tired and just wanted her daughter to stop with this rebellious streak.
"I-I didn't do anything." (Y/N) growls out crossing her arms, eyes locking on the flooring.
"Then; tell me why, I got a call from the headmaster telling me you threatened a student!" Rin's voice quickly raised in intensity when she finished.
"That's not what happened!" (Y/N) quickly defends looking up at her mother, "I only treated them how they treated me! They were making fun of—"
"I don't want to hear it! You CANNOT THREATEN PEOPLE!" Rin's anger quickly raising.
As she yells at her oldest daughter, the door opens revealing her beloved husband and her other two children. "Go to your room. You are grounded until further notice. Do you understand." Rin stares at her daughter with a stern look, clearly trying not to lash out any more than she already has. Without a word (Y/N) walks up the stairs retreating to her room, backpack dragging behind her. "What did we do wrong?" Rin sighs turning to her husband who was placing the youngest in a walking toy.
"We didn't do anything wrong, she's just too headstrong." He replied, smiling down at his daughter, who coos up at her father making a grabbing motion.
"I'm scared, Goro. I don't want her hiding from the police and heroes when she's older. Or barely making ends meet as we did." Rin sighs slumping down on the plush couch.
Goro kneels in front of his wife and smiles gently up at the woman, his hands sitting on both her knees. "Rin, I understand you are worried for her, I am too, but (Y/N) is a good kid. She cares deeply for people almost to a fault. I don't think she has it in her to go much further than a petty fistfight." He whispers, staring lovingly at the woman.
She wraps her hands around his face and pulls him into a sweet kiss. "I really hope so. I don't want her to hurt as bad as we did."
...Current day...
...(Y/N)'s POV...
"LET'S GO TOGA!!" I scream barely dodging a streak of lightning. Toga lunges at the hero, smiling wide. "TOGA!!" I quickly activate my quirk surrounding the teen, lightning bouncing off of it. Just as quickly releasing it. My entire scar quickly ignites in pain, I whimper trying not to show any reaction. The Hero suddenly gets in front of me and grabs my throat lifting me up. On instinct, my quirk activates again but something was off, the cube was giant, engulfing 8ft of the area, including upwards. Gas was quickly filling the cube, and my throat was closing. The hero falters and drops me down, I desperately try to breathe but barely anything was getting in. Focusing the best I can, I quickly shrink the shield smashing the hero, and killing him instantly. Toga runs over to me and grabs my arm helping me up,
"(Y/N)! Are you okay?"
I push her away as more gas spills from my lips, my head was starting to get fuzzy. My breaths were shallow, my scar alit with so much pain I couldn't move.
"I'll call Dabi! You guys are close, right?" She pulls her phone out and dials him.
...Dabi's POV...
I sat watching The Lion King with Yuki, it has been an hour since (Y/N) left to hang with Toga. I wasn't too worried she can handle herself, if anything Toga worried me more. I hear my phone begin to ring so I sigh and stand walking into the bedroom and picking it up. Toga's name is on display, I groan and answer the phone. "Hey what's—"
"HEY! Something is wrong with (Y/N)! I-I don't know exactly what but—" she was clearly panicking.
"Where are you." My voice was stern and unwavering.
"I'll send it to you!" She then hangs up and my phone lights up with the location.
"Hey! I gotta go get your sister, don't let anyone in!" I yell to Yuki and she hums in response.
I leave and quickly make my way to the location. I couldn't falter not even for a moment. I couldn't think of losing her... I hadn't realized until now how much she means to me. My feet pummeled the pavement, as I took every shortcut I could think of. They weren't too far but far enough to make me worry. Whipping around the corner I see Toga standing next to a mutilated corpse and (Y/N) hunched over grappling her throat desperately. Her right arm twitched and shook, clearly flaring up. Gas surrounds her, clearly not stopping. I take a breath of fresh air and slowly approach her. Her eyes met mine and quickly wave her arms, tears streaming down her face. More coughs erupt from her mouth, clouds puffing out. "(Y/N), I need you to calm down," I say gently, standing a bit away from her. "You are freaking out and that can't be helping with theses episodes and flareups. Just focus on breathing. Not the fear." I try to sooth her from afar but I could tell she was having problems focusing. Suddenly, sirens began to fill the silent night air. "Shit! (Y/N), we have to go!" I move closer covering my mouth breathing as little as possible.
"S-stop!" She chokes out tightly grasping her throat, "p-please.."
Before I could respond a person landed mere feet from her hunched form. In an instant they move to grab her, their hand outstretched to grab her head. My arm outstretched itself as well and ignited with my blue flames, a familiar pain erupted on my skin. "DABI NO!" (Y/N)'s voice screamed through her breathless form. As soon as my flames touched the gas it ignited, exploding on impact. Heat filled the air as I'm pushed back slightly from the explosion. Everything was silent, only the crackling of flames filled my ears. My mouth was dry, fears started bubbling up as I moved forward swiping the smoke away. Relief over took me when I saw (Y/N) grasping the hero's arm a shield protecting her and gas spilling less then it had been moments previously. I approach the barrier and place my hand against it, but to my surprise it past through with ease. The hero was choking and activates her quirk hair glowing a fuchsia pink. I grab her throat with my hand and heat my palm up rapidly making sure not to spark the gas filled room.
"Die!" I close my fist snapping her windpipe killing her.
Red and blue lights fill the street as I grab (Y/N)'s shaking form and cover her mouth. I create a wall of flames before disappearing into the night, leaving the heroes dead corpses. Toga was long gone, leaving once the sirens sounded. (Y/N)'s body was clearly weak, whimpers and sharp breaths are the only sounds she made. Her mouth no longer leaked gas but her arm continued to twitch and made me assume it was still hurting her.
I rushed home slamming the door open. Yuki gasps and yelps at the sudden loud noise at my entering. I kick my shoes off and walk to the bathroom quickly.
...(Y/N)'s POV...
Everything happened so fast, it all was muddled together. I knew as soon as I saw the hero Dabi would retaliate... but the gas I was spewing was highly combustible and would go up with the smallest spark. I quickly grabbed the hero guarding myself from the incoming flames that filled the atmosphere. I watched Dabi kill the woman, and him lifting me from the now warm ground. His hands were still hot from his quirk, but it was easily overtaken by my scar that was so painful to a degree that made me want to scratch my skin off. To remove the limb completely to just make it stop. I breathed slowly, trying to hold back the much wanted sob from leaving my throat.
Being so distracted by my own pain that I hadn't realized you were home until you were sitting on the counter. Taking slow shaking breaths my hands tightly grasping his shoulders, the action tipped me over the edge and fat tears ran down my cheeks in seconds. Sobs now choked me instead of the toxic fumes. "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay now." His voice wasn't its usually uncaring and uninterested state instead it was soft and soothing. He steps away and starts a bath, the sound of the filling tub filling the small bathroom drowning out my cries. "I don't think you should use your quirk for awhile." He breaths walking back to me, "let your body rest for a bit. Can't have you dying on me."
