I wipe my brow and smile at Yuki who was trying to pick up a heavy box. "Give it here." I watch Dabi take it from her and set it outside. She huffs and claims she could've done it alone. Which was a lie. "Hey, Babe, you pack the bottom drawer?" I nod and tape the box I was currently working on.
"Of course I did. That would be stupid to leave." I retort picking up the heavy box. "That would raise suspicion if the land lord or the cleaners found it." I stand up lifting the box up, I strut by the patchwork man and down the stairs. I hum as I walk over to the moving van. I had no idea where Dabi got it from but I didn't question it. Dabi walk by me with Yuki close behind, I pull the back down and lock it shut. I look around the side seeing him lift Yuki into the truck, a small smile spreads across my lips. I walk around the opposite side and get inside the truck. Dabi sat in the driver's seat, Yuki in between us, and I'm on the passenger side.
He pulls away and starts to drive down the road, my eyes stared out the window. I watched people going about their day, paying no mind to anything around themselves. As I happily sat in silence Dabi's phone goes off, I groan out. Then my own does. I glance down opening the Lock Screen, 'work' was brightly shone. "Damn." I say and read the text over.
"What is it?" Dabi asks while not taking his eyes from the road.
"It's work. We got some meeting tomorrow night. It doesn't say anything else." I sigh placing my phone down on my lap again.
"Welp, what about the twerp?" He asked while turning the truck onto the proper street.
"I'm sure she'll be fine alone. As long as she doesn't burn the apartment down." I pinch her cheek and she laughs out and hits my hand away.
"Stoooop!" She groans playfully.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Dabi cuts the playfulness short and glances over at me.
"Yeah, of course, what is it?" I question making brief eye contact with him.
"What was your home life like?" He keeps his eyes away from my own.
"Umm, ya know, pretty normal I'd say." I shrug thinking for a moment, "I mean I'd get into fights then Kenji and my parents would scold me. Ekio would make fun of me, we'd bicker back and forth." I chuckled at the memories that flooded my mind. "Hinata was just kinda around, she was a quiet kid." I shrug a little reliving a few memories.
"That seemed like a nice life, I wouldn't have imagine villains to raise their kids like that few years ago." He lets out a soft laugh and I hit his arm softly. Yuki looks at him confused for a moment and he pauses.
No one explained what he meant, we sat in silence for the rest of the ride. We quickly unloaded the truck and filled the hall with packages, Yuki didn't ask about it as we unpacked everything. I set up Dabi and I's room and the bathrooms, Dabi worked on the living room and kitchen, and Yuki set up her own room and then helped where she could. I finished quickly hiding everything properly, I quickly moved to the bathroom and unpacking everything away. I felt my arm start to flare up, I cuss under my breath and pull out some pills. I pop a few and sit on the floor watching it twitch and flex. The pain was mild but I knew better then to get comfortable. I lean my head on the wall and move my hand up into the air. The pain slowly grow, slurs ran out of my mouth more and more. "It was going so good... fuck." I felt tears welling up as I suppress my urge to cry out. It slowly creeps up my neck and back, something it hadn't done before. I pull my shirt from my back and press the burn against the cold wall to sooth the pain. "Kick in you you shit pills." I growl out feeling my fingers starting to throb.
After 20 minutes the door opens to reveal my favorite blue eyes, I was laying on the tile trying to make the pain stop. He doesn't say anything just kneels down beside me, he looks at the pills on the counter and then back at my shirtless body. "Does it hurt again?"
I nod a little, "my nerves are shot but why the fuck does it still hurt like this... it's fucking stupid." I choke out glaring at the ceiling.
"I don't know, babe. How about a cold bath? Think that'll help?" He said running a hand over my thigh, I shrug a little.
"Maybe."
He lifts me up from the floor, I whine at the feeling of the cold tile leaving my skin. He fills the large tub with chilled water and places me in the water (after stripping me of course) and I feel both relieved and very very cold. "How's that?"
"Good thanks, it's a little less intense." I sigh out lowering myself some more. "Hey... do you feel pain?"
"Yeah, but it's constant, I'm used to it. At this point it's pretty much like not noticing your nose." He explains rubbing my knee as it sits out of the water. "Explain the feeling to me." He whispers knowing I could hear him.
"Umm... it's like I'm on fire again, the feeling that my skin is lit aflame melting from the muscles." I pause for a moment, "it starts as a tingling though, like my arm is trying to feel something." He leans on the side of the tub, his head on his arm while the other remains on my leg. I pet his head with my left arm, seeing some white roots starting to shine through.
"It's funny to think I'd randomly run into someone who hates my old man as much as me." He mumbles out leaning into my touch.
"I think it's funny how we both ended up here, different paths same mission." I whisper to him.
The door flew open and Yuki yelled, "YOU CAN'T WATCH MY SISTER BATH! YOU'RE A BOY!"
