I walked into my professors classroom five minutes before everyone else showed up. I looked down on his desk to see a piece of paper.
Thanks for watching the class, pick whatever journal topic to write about, then let them watch the movie on the screen. -Dr. Williams.
Everyone started to flood into the class room. This shouldn't be to hard. Right?
"Okay," I said once everyone was in there seats. "Dr. Williams is out, and he asked if I could sub over you guys."
I heard a couple whispers going around, but I didn't care about that.
"So for your writing essay today," I sat there thinking over various topics. Some more interesting came to mind, then one stood out the most.
"I want you to write about something you don't or can't loose, and how you'll feel after if you did loose that certain thing. It can be objects, people, or anything you want."
I watched as everyone got their notebooks from their bag, and also a pen. I decided to do the same. I opened to the next clean page and began writing.
Journal 4/20/15:
I've lost a lot of things in my life, some more important than other things. Then some less than more important. But just yesterday, I found out about my boyfriend, Hinter Hayes, may be diagnosed with something. The doctors said how it's something rare, so they have to run tests on him. So who knows with his last breath will be. Who knows when it will be the next time I'll see him. But all I know, if I loose him, I will lose a half of me. More like, he'll be taking that part with him. Hunter is very special to me, and I couldn't bare a day without him. Even though in my last entry, I stated how I should maybe find someone else, but that was wrong. I was wrong. If I feel broken now, even though he's still here, I don't know what I'll be like when he's gone.I placed my pen down, and looked at everyone else. There was maybe two or three done, out of forty something.
I pulled my phone out and went to my texting app. I clicked on Hunters name.
To Hunter: Hey how are you?
From Hunter: I'm fine, just sitting in the airport waiting.
Hunter responded in less than a minute. So either he was about to text me, or was already on his phone.
To Hunter: That's good. Hope your flight is good too. Well I gotta go, have to get the class back to normal.
Even though that was somewhat a lie. Everyone was behaving, but also they were all finished with the assignment.
"Um. Well the professor said to put in a movie, but I'll give you a choice."
"What's the two choices?" A girl in the back of the room asked.
"Well. You can either watch the movie, or a few of you can share your writings. Im sorta curious about what you don't want to loose. And if you want, I'll read mine first."
I asked everybody to raise their hands on which they prefer. Of course reading won by a long shot.
I started to read the class mine. I glanced up a few times to see everyone either, playing with their thumbs or watching me like a hawk.
Once I finished I asked who wants to read. Almost every hand shot up.
"Okay, I pick you." I said pointing a a guy in a green jacket. I also told them they must say their names then read.
"Okay, my name is Jonas Hills. And here is what I don't want to loose."
"I don't want to loose my best friend. She means everything to me. Yes it may be cheesy for a guy to talk about his best friend, especially it being a girl. But I can't help it. She always makes me smile, and happy. If I lost her Id be broken, and literally wouldn't talk to anyone for a long time. My best friend is my other half. As she says, I'm the sun, an she's the moon. I sacrifice myself to let her shine into the dark night to make it bright again."
