The sun shone brightly in the clear sky, with no fluffy clouds to soften its rays. The weather was perfect—warm sunlight and a gentle breeze created an ideal day. Yet, none of this mattered to the young man draped over Muchen's shoulder, who was fast asleep, oblivious to the world around him.

It was a common sight for the students at No.1 High School. The imposing figure of Muchen, the Ye family's trusted bodyguard, dressed in a black suit and leather shoes, carried Ye Ming, the youngest of the Ye family, as if he were a sack of rice. With his broad shoulders and powerful build, Muchen was like a walking fortress, reminiscent of the Great Wall of China.

No one was surprised. After all, the sight of the "Sleeping Prince" dozing off on Muchen's shoulder had become a routine part of the morning for everyone at school.

"Uncle Mu! One of his earphones fell out!" a girl named Lin Liang, walking beside them, shouted as soon as she noticed.

Everyone in school knew how dangerously lazy Ye Ming was. If his earphones fell out, he might forget to breathe, and a trip to the ER wasn't uncommon.

"Thanks, Lin Liang," Muchen responded, quickly adjusting Ye Ming's earphones, gently putting them back in place as if handling fragile glass.

For Ye Ming, the sun was his enemy today. He wanted nothing more than to sleep after his older brother forced him to "exercise" (in Ye Ming's world, this meant taking three steps) before the sun even rose. Now, resting on Muchen's broad shoulders, which felt surprisingly comfortable to him, Ye Ming fell into a deeper sleep.

As they passed by, students and the school guard greeted Muchen, already accustomed to the sight. This was No.1 High School in X City—a prestigious, environmentally-friendly school that attracted students from across the region. It wasn't as renowned as A City's elite institutions, but that was precisely why Ye Ming found it tolerable; he wasn't looking for excitement.

Muchen, already familiar with the layout of the school, headed straight to Ye Ming's classroom. He entered Section 1 and carefully placed Ye Ming in his usual seat by the window, treating him like fragile porcelain. After setting down Ye Ming's school bag, Muchen watched as the young man momentarily woke, stretched with a soft crack of his spine, then promptly drifted back to sleep. For Ye Ming, sleep was everything. The plot of Lady Primrose, the novel world he now inhabited, was so far down his list of priorities that he barely thought about it. As long as the heroine didn't talk to him, he had no reason to care.

What he didn't realize was that the heroine, Bai Yuer, might actually be his classmate. She was smart, after all, and it wouldn't be impossible. But if she did speak to him, his only plan was to brush her off—or maybe just ignore her.

"I'll stay with the school guard and pick you up at lunch," Muchen said, knowing that Ye Ming was likely listening. He respected Ye Ming's desire for minimal interference—except, of course, when he was asleep.

As Muchen left the classroom, the bell rang. In his haste, he accidentally bumped into a girl, causing her books and things to scatter across the floor.

"Oh! I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention," the girl apologized as she hurried to pick up her belongings.

"It's alright, my fault too," Muchen replied, helping her gather her things before he made his exit. The girl watched Muchen walk away, her expression puzzled but not enough to dull her beauty. She was new to the school and hadn't seen this man around before, despite it being three weeks since classes started.

Bai Yuer, her long chestnut hair flowing behind her, made her way to her classroom. She was struck by the sight of the boy now occupying her seat, sleeping as if the world didn't exist.

A frown settled on her face. This wasn't fair. But all she could do was glare at the sleeping boy, whose beauty was both startling and irritating. From his long lashes casting shadows on his face, to his perfect nose, to his pale, flawless skin—everything about him made her feel an odd pang of jealousy.

"Who is this guy?" she muttered under her breath.

"Hey, Yuer, don't bother him. If you wake him up or knock out his earphones, it'll cause chaos in here. Come sit with me at the back," Bai Yuer's friend said, pulling her gently.

Bai Yuer frowned even deeper. Who did this guy think he was, occupying her seat?

"Nah, don't make a fuss, Yuer. That's the Sleeping Prince. We told you about him before, remember? This has been his seat since day one, but you just said, 'Who cares?'" her friend mimicked her voice playfully.

With an exasperated sigh, Bai Yuer let her friend pull her away from the boy, sparing herself the trouble of disrupting his sleep.

"This is a school, right? Why is he sleeping?" she grumbled. Her morning hadn't been great—Li Wei, a boy from school, had been pestering her about relationships and blackmail earlier. Now, this sleepy guy was making her even more annoyed.

"Ye Ming is one of the Top 3 students," Mai Fang, Bai Yuer's friend, explained patiently. "He doesn't pay attention in class, but he still answers everything perfectly. He doesn't do P.E. because he's too weak for that. He's the youngest son of the Ye family. Don't even think about messing with him—it's not worth it."

Bai Yuer was already gaining a reputation for being loud and energetic, with a feisty, tsundere-like attitude. She often got into fights, and Mai Fang didn't want her new friend to end up with broken bones for bothering Ye Ming, especially after what happened last year when someone made the mistake of waking him. All Bai Yuer could do was glare once more at the "Sleeping Prince" before resigning herself to her new seat.
