As the fourth week of school began, the excitement for the upcoming foundation celebration buzzed throughout No.1 High School. Students and faculty were busy planning booths, activities, performances, and figuring out which classes would be responsible for each task. The organization of the event, including the allocation of funds, rules, and regulations, was a logistical nightmare for some. But for Ye Ming, it was a stroke of luck that he didn't win the election to become the overall representative for his year. If he had, he'd have likely made a run for it, hiding in the storage room near the cafeteria, where the marble floor was always warm and comfortable—perfect for naps.

While all the students gathered in the auditorium to share their thoughts on the celebration, Ye Ming was fast asleep in his classroom, using his math textbook as an impromptu pillow. The warmth of the sunlight filtering through the windows, combined with the quiet atmosphere, made it impossible for him to stay awake. His exhaustion wasn't just from the lack of sleep, but from his older brother's "gentle" way of tossing him out of the car earlier that morning, forcing him to walk 315 steps to school. His brother, towering at 6'2" and far less tolerant of Ye Ming's lazy attitude, made it clear that there would be no shortcuts today.

Ye Ming hadn't eaten, feeling strangely full even though he wasn't. His mind was completely blank, and the breeze coming in from the window, along with the earthy scent of the air, made it easy for him to drift into sleep once more.

Meanwhile, Li Wei, ever the model student—or so he liked to think—had volunteered to check the classrooms for any students who hadn't made it to the auditorium. His real motive, however, was to linger near Bai Yuer's classroom, hoping to catch her alone. He admired his reflection in every window as he passed, until he reached section 1, where Bai Yuer's class was. There, his attention was caught by something entirely unexpected.

Li Wei stopped in his tracks when he noticed a figure slouched over a desk in the classroom. At first, he was irritated, but then his curiosity took over. He walked into the room to take a closer look at the sleeping figure. The young man's side profile was breathtakingly handsome. His light yellow hair shimmered like golden threads in the sunlight, and his small nose and lips rested peacefully against the textbook. Despite his initial frustration, Li Wei found himself oddly captivated by the sight.

Li Wei's original goal had been to search for any trinkets Bai Yuer might have left behind—a pencil, a handkerchief, anything that would give him an excuse to interact with her. But now, this sleeping figure drew all his attention.

Without much thought, Li Wei strode over to the young man and, in a fit of irritation, shook his shoulder. "Hey! Wake up!" he yelled, venting his frustration. When Ye Ming didn't respond, Li Wei yanked out the earplug from his ear, but still, nothing. Ye Ming didn't so much as flinch, continuing to sleep as if Li Wei's presence was nothing more than background noise.

Li Wei's anger bubbled up as he realized he was being ignored. His temper was reaching its limit. "Aishhh! Stand up! I don't know why I'm doing this, but this is bullshit!" he muttered, scratching his head in frustration. When Ye Ming still didn't wake up, Li Wei kicked the desk hard, sending it crashing into the wall.

Finally, Ye Ming stirred, his eyes half-open, his expression unreadable. He wasn't sure if he should be mad or just annoyed. His precious sleep had been interrupted, and his already low energy levels felt even more depleted. The 2190 hours of sleep he had accumulated in his mind vanished in an instant, all because of his brother's earlier antics and now this disruption. There's a saying in the Philippines: "Biruin mo lang ang bagong lasing, wag lang ang bagong gising." It roughly translates to, "You can joke with a drunk person, but never mess with someone who just woke up." Ye Ming was the embodiment of that saying, and the groggy irritation showed on his face.

His vision still blurry, Ye Ming couldn't make out who had disturbed his slumber. Instead, he calmly put his earplug back in, lifted his finger to his lips, and made a quiet "Sheesh" sound, followed by a dismissive hand gesture. It was a clear message to leave him alone. To Li Wei, it felt like he was being shooed away like a stray dog.

Furious, Li Wei was about to smack Ye Ming across the head when one of his lackeys interrupted him, freezing his hand in midair.

"Brother Wei, the teacher said not to disturb Ming Ming. Don't wake him up," the lackey stammered, waving his hands in the air nervously.

Li Wei's anger was momentarily quelled, but his confusion deepened. "Ming Ming?" he repeated, the childish nickname sounding absurd.

"Yeah, him. Ye Ming," the lackey explained, pointing to the half-asleep young man slumped over the desk.

Li Wei's expression twisted as he realized who he was dealing with. Ye Ming —the infamous third son of the Ye family. The sleepy, lazy young master that everyone in the noble circles of A City whispered about. The Ye family was powerful, wealthy, and steeped in history, their legacy tied to imperial grandeur. And now, here was Ye Ming, one of the heirs to that illustrious name, fast asleep in front of him.Li Wei hadn't expected to encounter him like this. The rumors had intrigued him, but seeing Ye Ming in such a state left him reeling. For a moment, his obsession with Bai Yuer was forgotten, replaced by a new, unsettling fascination with the mysterious third son of the Ye family.Without another word, Li Wei turned and left the classroom, his thoughts now consumed with someone far more interesting than Bai Yuer.
