Niall POV

It was weird seeing her like this. Ever since I had met Karla, she was independent and strong. But being in the hospital, she cannot be that way.

She is frail and weak and completely dependent on nurses. When she got into the fight, the attacker fractured part of her head, broke her arm and dislocated both of her knees.

Poor Karla.

I have never got into a fight before. I have always been the gentle, passive-aggressive kind of guy, but when it came to her, I was willing to change myself and take chances. She takes my breath away.

My friends all believe this whole thing was a "love at first sight" scenario. To be honest, I agree with them.

When Karla came out of the hospital, I drove her home. Apparently she did not want her parents to come see her. Why would she rather a complete stranger take her home than her own parents?

When we were in the car, I just wanted to look at her while I drove. She is so beautiful. All I want to see is her. Only her.

When we pull up to her flat, I notice it is in the same building as Louis. Since she had trouble walking, she put her arm around me as I held her tightly. I just wanted to keep her safe.

She went into her flat and sat on her bed. She has not been sleeping well in the hospital, so I helped her get ready to sleep and even cleaned up a little bit while she was in the shower.

"You doing alright?" I asked her while she was taking her shower.

"Not like you would be able to help me if I needed it," she joked.

"Wow, the hospital changed you, you are actually telling jokes now? What is this world coming to?" I joked back.

I heard her laugh, or more like chuckle. I am glad she is actually talking to me like I am a person now. That is normally a good thing.

When she finally laid down, I kissed her on the forehead and she was out in minutes. Not sure what to do, I turned on the television and noticed the soccer game was on. The game she was supposed to be participating in. I am guessing they had the back-up goalie in, and Karla was right, she was good. No where close to her skill level, though.

I watched the game until I heard Karla tossing, turning and...talking? She was talking in her sleep.

"...I didn't mean it. I'm sorry. Please don't hit me..." She whispered. "Tell him to stop, mom, tell him you...I thought you loved me mom I thought...don't take me away..."

"Karla," I shook her shoulder trying to comfort her. "You okay?"

She sat up quickly to the sound of my voice, just like she did in the hospital and I saw her wince in pain. She flinched and I noticed something in her eyes, fear.

"Don't hit me! She screamed, hiding her face. "Wait, who are you?"

"Don't hit you? Karla, what is going on?"
