Niall POV

"Mom! It's alright. It's going to be great. You've taught me well. I don't plan on messing this up," I said to my mom through my iPhone.

"Good, because I like this girl."

"I like her too," I said, red infesting my cheeks.

"One question, Hun."

"Yeah?"

My mom paused, breathing slowly, before asking, "Do you plan on spending the rest of your life with this girl?"

"Yes, mom. She is the woman of my dreams. No matter what the fans or anyone else thinks, she is the woman I want to marry and spend my life with. I want to grow old with her. I wouldn't give that up for the world."

My mom sniffled through the phone.

"Mom? Are you crying?"

She paused again, making another sniffle before just being able to get out a small "yes."

"Why are you crying? You should be happy!" The worst thing to me is when girls cry, especially my own mother. She is so strong, so independent. She hardly ever cries. The last thing I wanted was to hurt her.

"I'm just so happy, Ni. You deserve this more than anyone else in the world. I hate that you're growing up so fast, as any mother does. But, I know she will treat you well. I know you'll treat her well! Just make sure she knows not to hurt my baby."

"I'll make sure I tell her," I said laughing at my mom's attempt at being intimidating. She was honestly one of the nicest people I know, and its funny when she tries to portray seriousness.

She laughed at herself as we said our good byes. I put my iPhone in my dark jeans pocket and rolled my eyes playfully. My mom is one of my favorite people in the world. She loves Karla to death, which is absolutely wonderful.

If my own mother did not approve of whoever I was in a relationship with, there was a very small chance I would stay with them for a long period of time. My mom knows little things that could make a huge difference in the long run. If I need advice, she is the first person I have always turned to.

I had been running around almost all day since we landed, making sure our reservations were set. When I made sure they were set, I called them again. And again. And again. And again. When I was positive they were set, I called them one more time to be absolutely positive.

Then, I went around and bought all the groceries, toiletries, and clothing we might need throughout our stay here in Hawaii.

When I reached the door to our timeshare, felt frightened to enter. Goosebumps fell over my skin, causing the hair in my arms and legs to rise. The pressure was on me now. I could never mess this up for Karla. She is the one thing that has always been a stone in my life, unable to move out. She has been my shield and my love. As soon as I saw her, I knew she was the one for me. She has saved me from me from more than anything or anyone else could ever do. No matter how terrible I can be sometimes, she refuses to give up on me.

Although we have our fights, the moments of tenderness make up for the hurtful moments. I would never leave her, and I always have to wonder, why did she pick me?

I stood with my hand on the doorknob, unmoving, when I felt the knob turn, revealing an open door with my beautiful Karla inside it, wearing her signature outfit of a teeshirt and athletic shorts. Her smile looked real, but her eyes looked broken. There was water on her face, but red prominent behind the water.

Her eyes were the brightest green I had ever seen them, with tints of a deep, luscious blue around the pupil. It was obvious she had been crying, but refused to show it. She hid behind her broken smile, hoping I wouldn't recognize it.
