Fifteen

I woke up the next morning alone in my bed with a sleeping Lilly right beside me.

I checked my phone it was only 8am, I sent John a text quickly

Me: Morning Johnny what time are we leaving?xxxx

Before getting up and getting ready for johns hospital appointment this morning.

I quickly showered and left my hair to dry naturally before pulling on a plain yellow bikini and a white beach shirt over it and throwing on a pair of sliders before going over to my phone on the bed.

No text from John, that's strange I text him almost an hour ago, I lay back down on my bed as I looked to Lilly who was scrolling through her phone in bed.

"Lils have you spoke to Kyle today" I asked as she looked up from the screen

"Eh yeah we said good morning that's all... how come" she asked

"I text John an hour ago about his appointment and he hasn't replied"

Lilly scrunched her eyebrows as I found johns number and started dialling.

It rang out a couple times before Lilly sat up on the bed.

"Kyle just text me back I asked him if John was in the room and he replied nah he left the room proper early this morning for his appointment how come" she told me

I was extremely confused as I lay down in bed, why would he leave without me when he got me time off work today to go with him. I quickly text him again before putting my phone away.

Me: why did you not wake me to come with you? Is everything okay?xxxx

I finally dragged Lilly from her bed as she got changed and we both headed out to the pool where some of the lads where already messing around.

"My angels good morning" dec announced as he patted the end of his sun bed as we walked up to them.

I took a seat on Declan's sun bed as he pulled me into a side hug.

"You okay Chlo" he asked as I smiled up to him

"Yeah I'm good" I lied as I removed my shirt and rubbed sun cream onto my skin.

I spent the rest of the day round the pool with Lilly and some of the boys, I continuously checked my phone and still no text from John.

After lounging around by the pool for a couple hours lily had a session with some of the team, i still had the rest of the day off so decided to head up to johns room to see if he was back yet.

I walked along the corridor and stood outside johns room for a couple seconds before knocking the door gently.

I could hear foot steps approach the door as it swung open, John stood in just a pair of shorts.

"Hey" I smiled as he held the door open for me to walk in

John walked back towards the bed as I placed my bag down on the ground.

"How was your appointment" I asked taking a seat at the end of the bed

"I need to go back for more tests and scans tomorrow but in a word my leg is fucked" he sighed not taking his eyes off his phone screen

Johns body language was making me feel extremely awkward.

"Why didn't you wake me this morning" I asked as he glanced up for a second before continuing to scroll

"I just decided it was something I wanted to do alone" he said

We sat in silence for a couple minutes before I decided I needed to get myself out of this situation
