Seventeen

Today was the last full day we would spend in Spain and Gareth had decided to give everyone a day off to do whatever they wanted.

Myself and Lilly had decided to go for a girls day, we did some shopping got our nails done and now sat in a beautiful beach restaurant for some lunch.

"I can't believe this trip is almost over" Lilly announced

"I know it's been an absolute rollercoaster of a week but I have enjoyed myself" I told her

"You never get it easy do you" Lilly laughed sipping on her drink

"It's always me, I don't know what I do so wrong" I laughed at her as she referred to the drama with John

"Some how I don't think it's you, it's the guys you go for"

I shrugged my shoulders as the waiter brought over our lunch

"So what's going on with you and Dec, you where flirting so bad the other night" Lilly asked

"I honestly don't know, I love him like a brother but sometimes when he says nice things about me or compliments me I get little butterfly's.... But then I remember he has a girlfriend" I told her

"Well I think he likes you more than friends but i completely get what you mean, he's not single"

"Yeah and the whole John situation makes every time ten times worse" I sighed

"I do not get what his issue is, he clearly adores you but then sometimes it's like he flicks a switch and turns all emotions towards you off"

Lilly was completely right I could have explained it better myself but from now on I decided I'm not chasing him anymore I can't keep doing it to myself.

Once me and Lilly finished our lunch we collected our bags and made our way back to the hotel.

That night Lilly had gone out for dinner with Kyle just the two of them and I decided to just stay in my room and pack my things before the flight home tomorrow.

Dec Rice : hey bitch face, what are you up to?

Me: hello Declan! I'm just packing my things what you doing?

Dec Rice: I'm just chilling in my room, fancy some company?

Me: yeah sure!! Bring me snacks please deccc x

Dec Rice: you are a pain in my assssss, see you in 10 🙄

I smiled at Declan's text as I quickly tidied up the room a little and changed out of my bikini into some shorts and a sports bra.

I had just settled into bed when I heard the door knock loudly, I jumped up quickly to get it.

"Hello" I smiled to dec who walks in the room pulling my into a hug

"You good?" I nod at dec as we walk back into the room he took a place on the bed

"Do you want a drink" I asked pointing to the stocked up fridge

"You got any beers in there" he asked as I nodded and handed him the chilled bottle

I pulled out a can of Malibu and coke and climbed onto the bed beside dec

"So what have you been up to today" dec asked making small talk

"Just went shopping with Lilly and had some lunch what did you get up to" I asked him

"Just called my family and spoke to" Declan paused for a second before continuing awkwardly

"My eh girlfriend" I nodded as I continued to look at the TV

"They all doing ok" I asked trying to sound upbeat

"Yeah all good, anyway should we watch this" dec nodded towards the tv towards the movie starting to play.

We sat in silence sipping on our drinks as we watched the movie, my eyes began to water at the sad part and within seconds the tears spilled down my cheeks.

I heard dec snigger slightly beside me as he reached over taking my hand in his and squeezing it tightly, we stayed like this for the rest of the movie until the end titles began to roll.

"Omg that was so fucking sad" I sat up crossing my legs as I wiped my face

"I can't believe you convinced me to watch that" dec laughed as he sat up to look at me

His hand reached over as he wiped the tear from my face and tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear before placing his hand on the side of my cheek and rubbed his thumb over it slowly.

Declan's head moved closer to mine his eyes fixated on my lips as he closed the gap even further, butterfly's erupted in my stomach as I knew exactly what was about to happen.

Suddenly Declan's lips touched mine softly as I breathed in deep before he pulled me in again with more force.

We pulled apart his eyes still on mine as we both breathed deeply.

I had thought about this moment a lot the last couple days and what it would actually feel like to kiss him but it was not everything i thought it was going to be, instant regret ran through my stomach as I thought of Declan's girlfriend and for some strange reason John.

I stood from the bed placing my hand on my forehead.

"We should not have done that" I sat back down looking at dec for some sort of reaction

"Iv wanted to do that for so long, but now I'm not so sure I should have" he sighed sitting back again on the bed

"It's not right dec, I love you as a friend and we get along so well but you have a girlfriend and I don't want to be anyones side piece"

Dec nodded agreeing with what I was saying.

"I get that, your unbelievably beautiful and you deserve to be treated like a queen, can we still be best friends tho" he asked with a serious look on his face

"Of course we can just promise this stays between us, just me and you" I held it my pinky for him to wrap his round

"I promise" he laughed before placing a soft kiss on my lips again

"That was the last one I promise never again" he laughed before he headed to get us both another drink
