Billy walked down the aisle to head to the alcohol section, stopping short in his path as the girl from across the street just walked past him with a trolley of food and kitchen utensils. She just walked past him, not even glancing at him like she didn't see him. Her hood was down as her hair fell over her shoulders, messy and ruffled like she just got out of bed without even fixing herself. Billy scoffed in disgust, walking behind her cause apparently she was getting some alcohol too. He went to grab some bottles and a six-pack while he looked over and saw the girl only grabbing vodka and tequila.

"Damn she's a strong weight..." Billy mumbled seeing the number of bottles his neighbour grabbed to put in her trolley. He watched as she pushed up her glasses and tucked her hair back, nimble fingers grabbing the handle to walk past him. She finally looked up and saw Billy, him raising a brow beneath his sunnies as she just gave him no reaction while walking past him. She didn't even acknowledge him. Billy turned around stunned but also agitated. No one ignores him, no one simply walks away from him like that. Billy followed the girl subtly as she went to a checkout, standing behind her to also pay for his stuff.

(y/n) knew her across the street neighbour was behind her but decided to ignore it. She was so done being out in society already and just wanted to go home. She had to clean up and get cooking for the next week or so. She also needed to plan out an outfit that 1. wouldn't end up her being picked on by bullies, not like she has experienced being bullied, and 2. would let her blend in and not stick out so much that everyone ignore her.

As she was ready to pay, the cashier was giving her the stinkeye while packing the alcohol. "Do you have an ID?"

Fuck...

(y/n) being underage didn't have that ID. She thought that her looks of seemingly being older and this being a small town not giving two shits about its citizens would look past her buying alcohol. Oh, she was screwed.

"That's for me. She was getting it ready for me to pay." (y/n) freezes as her neighbour stands next to her, showing his ID and the cashier nods. He takes the alcohol from the neighbour's hands and adds it to (y/n)'s groceries as Billy paid for the full thing in whole. "Stop gawking and help me with these fucking bags." Billy snaps as he takes a couple and (y/n) jumps into movement to take the rest. They walk out from the store a couple of feet before putting the stuff down on a bench and (y/n) takes out what she owed to her neighbour.

"Thanks. Didn't think this town gave a shit about who was buying alcohol but I guess I was wrong..."

Oh, so she speaks.

Billy rolls his eyes but now knew his neighbour wasn't mute. "Now we're even."

(y/n) nodded knowing what her neighbour meant and looked at him. "Put your hand out." Billy raised an eye at the strange girl before doing so and she places money in his hands.

"Now we're truly even." She mumbles out before sorting her bags from her neighbours and taking her stuff, walking away from him. Billy was bemused but shook his head before grabbing his stuff and heading to his car.

~~~~~~~~
(y/n) hummed along with the music that was blasting in her house, her lips quirked up in the smallest of smiles as she cooked herself some dinner and some lunch for tomorrow as well as something to last her the next couple of days before she had to cook again. The window in the kitchen was opened, the music drifting down the street which hopefully didn't bother the neighbours as a lovely aroma drifted in the air.
