(y/n) - your name

The air was filled with cheering and loud horns of the band playing their instruments as the student body screamed out for their basketball team. There were banners and posters, the cheerleaders shaking their green, yellow and white pompoms as the basketball players all ran onto the court, hi-fiving people on their way in.
"This is chaotic." (y/n) chuckles as she and Billy shimmied into an empty space on the bleachers, her being wary of her glasses and hat that covered her appearance.
"I told you this wasn't a good idea." Billy says in her ear knowing she wouldn't be able to hear him over the screaming and she does the same.
"It will be ok! Everyone will be too busy with the game. Plus Max is happy!" she points to the redhead girl who was smiling when she turned around, waving at her brother and her sister-in-law.
"Who is that with Billy?" Max goes rigid as Dustin speaks up next to her, wiping the smile off her face before turning back to him to not give (y/n) away.
"A friend that apparently knew (y/n)."
"Ok, but why is she with Billy? Don't tell me he moved on already!?" Dustin scoffs but Max was chuckling on the inside.
"No. They both knew each other from California apparently and since he was coming down, he asked her if she wanted to see (y/n)'s headstone." Dustin nods, not wanting to prod when his older friend was mentioned. He missed her, the whole Hawkins group did.
Billy was discreetly holding (y/n) to his side, rubbing her bare hip beneath her shirt and jacket as he watched the boys play. "I hope the team wins the championships like you did with your old team." (y/n) leans into Billy and he smirks.
"Doubt it, I practically carried that team."
"Of course you did love. You're the best player." (y/n) smiles remembering the videos of Billy's team winning that were taped and saved along with the endless amounts of photos in her boxes.
"Do you recognise her?" Billy nods to a curly brown-haired girl and (y/n) furrows her brows, trying to remember her from the photos.
"Nancy right? Didn't she and Steve used to date?" (y/n) sees Steve with some random girl she didn't know.
"They broke up sometime after we both moved to Hawkins." Billy smirks, a memory popping up. "You used to come to visit me during our practices."
"Really?" (y/n) raises a brow as she looked at her boyfriend. "And why would I do that?"
"Hmm, maybe because I realised that you liked the pet name darling and I may or may not have coerced you to see me." Billy grins as he takes hold of (y/n)'s chin, seeing her blush the exact same way she did when he first called her darling and he loved it. "That and also you said you wanted to see my skills."
"Well, I must've been glad after seeing you play. You got major skills." (y/n) smirks back and Billy leans in close, his hand gripping her thigh.
"Oh, you know I have many. So many that involves my name falling from your lips." (y/n) shudders and that boosts Billy's ego, heat rushing through him seeing her fall pliant so easily from his words. The two jump away from each other when the crowd suddenly start cheering, seeing the Hawkins team ahead of the other team. (y/n) chuckles as she watches billy really get into the game, yelling out with other sports fans about fouls or other sports terms. She wasn't one to watch games but she enjoyed seeing how active Billy was in them and how he was basically coaching the team.
