"Someone call for Dr. Brenner! Experiment X is coming out of her comatose!" the doctors and the nurses scramble around to get restraints as the girl on the table started stirring awake, the monitors around them going crazy as they slowly wake up. She cries loudly from her body being in absolute pain, feeling like she was being ripped apart as she pushed herself to sit up. She panted as she looked around the glass room she was in and fear settled in so quickly seeing unfamiliar creatures running around outside the glass cage she was in.
She didn't like this.
Didn't like this one bit.
She looked down at the IV stuck in her arm, slowly taking it out and whimpering from the pain before getting off the bed. She hisses as she fell to her knees, unable to feel her legs and only sharp pins and needles stabbing her whole lower half. She groans out, smacking her legs to rid the feeling and slowly getting up using a table to help her up. When she stands up straight, she notices files and papers scattered around, photos of people that looked familiar.
Her chest hurt seeing these photos, grabbing everything that was there and holding it tight when the doors behind her open. "Grab her!" the white creatures yell out and run around the bed to grab her but she dodges them, shoving them away and kicking the bed into their shins as she manages to wriggle out of the room. She closes the door and locks it, ignoring the creatures inside yelling at her as she bolted down the hallway where the lights flashed red.
"She's escaping!" there were other yells behind her and people tried to grab her, ducking beneath their arms and kicking them away or throwing things in their way to stop them. She held the files and photographs tightly, not wanting to lose anything as she dived into a room. She panted as she laid against the door, praying that the creatures run past where she was hiding.
Please... please...
She silently cried, covering her mouth with her hand as she heard someone but walks away. She waits for a moment, quietly looking around the room to see various items stored and a mannequin with clothing in it. There was a single piece of jewellery that looked familiar, a simple necklace with a blue stone that glinted and she slowly walks towards it. There was something about the necklace that brought her so much pain but so much warmth.
The girl heard yelling outside the door and she panicked, grabbing a backpack and stuffing the papers in it before grabbing a coat to wear over her flimsy white hospital-looking gown plus some shoes. She carefully took the necklace and held it tight in her fists, opening the door and peeking down the hallway before slipping out. She ran down the hallway, hoping to find an exit.
"There you are!" she screams as someone grabs her harshly by her fisted arm, pulling her away from an elevator that she found which was just at the end of the hallway. "Stop squirming!" she just screamed and screamed, wrestling her arm out from the creature's grip but he twists it causing her to cry out in pain. "Shit-" he crumbles to his knees as she swings her foot up to kick him right in between his legs, grabbing the gun that was strapped on him plus what looked like a security card.
"She's here! Don't let her get away!" the girl ran for her life, tears streaming as she pounded against the elevator button, whipping her head back as the creatures advanced on her. She raised the gun on them and all stopped, red fury in her eyes as she seethed at them.
"She's not going to shoot-" the creature wails out as the girl shot him and the others back away, the doors opening behind her and she quickly checks to see that no one was there before getting in. She screams at the creatures in anger, the gun in one hand and the necklace fisted tightly in the other as the doors slowly close. The elevator went up after she pressed the highest-numbered button, scrambling out the doors and into the open. She didn't wait for anyone and bolted out of the facility, using the card to open the doors and running down the empty deserted roads.
She didn't look back as she ran, forcing her legs to take her away from the facility to wherever her heart took her. And she hoped that she would find whatever she was looking for.

"I think that's the last of it." The moving men confirmed as they settled in the last box into the quiet house. "Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with." the man tilts his hat before walking out into the sweltering heat that was Californian weather, jumping into his van with his mates before driving down the road by the crashing ocean.
Billy sighs as he looked around the empty beach house that held so many bad memories, but rare precious ones. The house he grew up in and promised that he would return to with the love of his life. Now... it was just him. He walks out onto the balcony overlooking the ocean and the beach, thinking about how she would have enjoyed playing in the sand while he surfed again. She would've been so fascinated by California and he would've shown her everything that it had to offer. All the secret areas, the fancy restaurants and the best sweet stores.
It had only been a week since the (l/n)'s funeral and it was still hard for Billy even though he left Hawkins. He couldn't stay in the town anymore. Everything reminded him of her. (y/n) and (b/n) had a closed casket funeral, a dark rainy day where Nancy and Jonathan had to find their parents and tell them both their children passed away. It broke Billy as he saw her parents when they flew into town, especially her mother, break down crying as he stayed in the distance at the cemetery. He couldn't... he couldn't approach them, couldn't tell them that he and (y/n) were together. He hated himself that he couldn't save her. He was supposed to protect her as she had done for him...
She wasn't supposed to be the one to sacrifice herself at StarCourt Mall.
Billy still could hear his screams as he yelled out for her, seeing her smile sadly at him as she said 'I love you' to him while keeping the glass doors locked before that light in her eyes was ripped away when the Mind Flayer pierced through her body.
That was her first and last time she professed her love for Billy.
Steve and Jonathan held him back when he tried to run to her, the others failing to stop (b/n) as he ran to the doors and cried out for his sister. They all heard the loud wailing of the Mindflayer before it collapsed and stopped moving, knowing that the gate was finally closed. But in doing so, (b/n) slowly melted away along with it. In his last moments, he grabbed his sister and dragged her out of the store, apologising to her before he soon passed away with her.
Billy cried for the first time since he found out his mother left him, shoving away Jonathan and Steve as he fell to his knees next to (y/n). He called out for her, shaking her awake, begging her to look at him and smile at him and tell him that she loved him again. He begged and begged as he held her in his lap, ignoring the blood that seeped through her body and onto his clothes. She was so cold... he couldn't feel her soothing warmth when she held his cheeks or smell that hauntingly beautiful floral scent. All he could smell was metallic blood.
Everything was a blur after that. Billy being pulled away from (y/n) forcefully as he thrashed against the guards that dragged him away from her body to the funeral sitting where he was read her will. Only he and Max were in her will. Even after her death, (y/n) still looked after them both. Half of everything she owned was split between Billy and Max only. None of their parents could touch their money, only used for Max's future schooling tuition and for Billy to be able to leave Hawkins and do whatever he wanted. She specified that everything her parents wanted to give to her in their will when the time comes will only go to her brother like she believed he would survive.
Then after that came the restraining order against Neil. (y/n)'s will specified the footage she had from when she installed cameras in the Hargrove household. Billy and Max both were shocked when they heard this, not knowing she had done that. It was breaching their privacy but Billy was glad she did that. The police had enough evidence of Neil's abusive ways and took him away, Far, far away from where he would never bother Max or Billy again.
So here was Billy Hargrove in California, in his childhood beach home that he was able to buy back with (y/n)'s help. He was surrounded by boxes filled with her belongings, only owning a few of his. He couldn't let the movers trash everything (y/n) owned in her old house before they put it up for sale, so he took everything. He knew how much her belongings meant to her and he didn't have it in his heart to throw them away. Especially not her boxes of photos that she had of her family and the people she befriended here in Hawkins.
She had done everything for him... but in the end, everything he wanted was her and he couldn't even have her.
"I miss you (y/n)..."
