Lis jumped out of the shower and dried herself. She blow dried her long, blond wavy hair and plugged in her hair straighteners, she wanted to glam herself up. It was a rare occasion that she got out by herself and she was going to take full advantage of it. She poured herself a glass of wine whilst she was getting ready. She straightened her hair layer by layer, she noticed her phone light up. She opened the text message and it was a photo of Tommy playing football with Charlie. Lis could tell that Tommy would be ok, she does worry all of the time. She text back saying thank you, have a good night x.
She picked out a black lace dress which was just above the knee and some black tights with some black stiletto heels. She looked into the mirror and thought to herself "that'll do". She sipped on her wine and waited for her friends to arrive.
"Hey Lisa, you look gorgeous" said her friend Francesca, everyone called her Frankie. Frankie arrived with Tina. They all grew up together, and remained friends ever since. Frankie and Tina are single career girls and have no children. Frankie works in PR and Tina as a Marketing Manager, both hugely successful and party girls. "Lisa, it's about time you come out, who's got Tommy tonight?" Tina queried. "Oh just a friend" Lis replied coyly. "Does this friend have a name?" Frankie asked, "Yes, it's one of Tommy's friends from school", she was let off the hook. "Come on girls the taxi is here" she said.
Come on then boys, think it's time to have a break from the football, it's getting late. Time for bed soon I think. The boys made their way up to the 4 bedroom house which was pristine, really clean. "Dad, can Tommy share a bedroom with me" Charlie asked. "Sure champ, course, the beds are all made up, see you in the morning kids" Olly replied.
He sat flicking the channels on his 40 inch wide screen television, nothing was on. He looked on his blackberry, no messages for him which was very rare. He went onto twitter lots of mentions and requests for follows, he sent a tweet update "quiet night in tonight, really wish I wasn't by myself". He would get an instant response offering their services to keep him company. He thought to himself "Shall I just have a look at her?..." . He went onto Lis' twitter profile and read her tweets, one has just been written, it was a picture "shall I click?... too late... wow, she looks beautiful". It was a picture of the 3 of them, Lis, Frankie and Tina. He wanted her to enjoy her night so he resisted the urge to text, tweet or DM her.
"So your smiling alot Lisa" Tina said, "Yes have you met a bloke or something?" Frankie followed. Lisa smiled and laughed "No, can't a girl smile? It's just being out with my besties". "No way it's more than that, you have never smiled like that not even when you was with Michael". They knew her too well. "Well whoever he is as long as he makes you smile like that and treats you well" Tina concluded and they left her to that.
Drinks were being downed and dancing was being done. Lis kept checking her phone, Frankie noticed this "Just ring him you know you want to", "No, I shouldn't, I'm drunk, you know what I'm like when I'm drunk" Lis replied nearly falling over." I think it's time for me to go home, it's ok girls, I'll get a taxi home you stay here, I clearly am not cut out for this" she hiccuped then started laughing. She went to the taxi rank and a man was behind her making suggestive comments and started coming onto Lisa. She jumped into the taxi and told him to drive quickly. A tear had trickled down her face as if she didn't know what to do.
"Ring ring" "Er yer Hello" Olly didn't check who the call was from, "Yeh Olly, sorry I've woke you up". He heard a voice trying to hold back the tears, "Lis, is that you whats wrong, tell what's wrong babe?" he woke up fully, "I'm in a taxi now, I'll be ok I just wanted to call someone, some bloke was trying to feel me up and I just jumped in a taxi and told him to drive" she carried on "I'm a little worse for wear I'll be ok when I get back home, is Tommy ok?". "Tommy's fine, asleep has been for hours, I'm really worried, get the taxi to bring you here" Olly replied forcefully. "No, honestly hun I just need some sleep and I'll be round in the morning" she said. He wouldn't take no as an answer "Ok, well I'm coming round to yours to make sure you get home safely", "Look hun, sorry I called you, I didn't know who else to call, I'm home now anyway so I'll see you in the morning" she concluded. He heard her key turn in her door then he knew she was safe. She tucked herself in her bed and updated her twitter status "Perfect night out with the girls, perfect ending". She fell asleep. Olly was wide awake. He went onto his twitter just to check if he had any DMs from his friends, he noticed Lis' status update, "Perfect ending?" he thought, "was i the perfect ending?" he smiled.
He knew it was likely that Lis was asleep, knowing she had drunk alot but he sent a DM to her twitter saying "You looked beautiful tonight babe, as you do always xxx".
