"Beep Beep, Beep Beep" Lisa woke to her mobile indicating a text message had arrived. "Morning, are you all up? I'm on my way round to pick up Charlie" the number she didn't have in her phone so she wondered if it was Olly or Dawn. It was 8.30, Lis thought why so early picking Charlie up. She got off out of her bed and walked towards Tommy's bedroom to see if the boys were up, the door was ajar and she took a peek in. The room was empty, the curtains were open and the bed was made. "Ahh tidy room, what good boys" she said to herself. She walked down the stairs and heard the television on full blast it was the latest sports news that was on. She made her way to the living room and she saw both boys sitting on the sofa eating their cereal, still in their fresh clothes that they changed into before they fell asleep. "Hey boys, good sleep" she said. "Yes we fell asleep talking" Tommy replied. "Well Charlie it looks like you had your first sleepover at ours, do you want a shower? your dad or nan will be here soon", "No it's ok I'll stay in these", he pointed to the fresh clothes he changed into before he fell asleep.
Lis ran up the stairs trying to make herself decent. She scrunched up her hair into a messy bun, she smeared on some foundation and applied some mascara. She put on a white tank vest and light blue skinny jeans which showed off her curves. "That'll do" she said to herself checking out herself in the mirror.
"Ding dong", the doorbell went," blimey that was quick", she took one last look at herself and made her way downstairs to answer the door. The first thing she saw was a huge smile and then she heard "Good morning Lis, how are we this morning?" it was Olly in such a good mood for a morning. " Morning Olly, what time do you call this?" she responded and laughed. "Well you know early bird and all that" he chuckled to himself. "Hey boys, did you have a nice sleep", "Yep dad, we got up early and made our own breakfast and...". Olly turned to Lis raising his eyebrows "Really, did Lisa have a lie in?" he laughed. "Well she did get up about half hour ago" Tommy butted in, "Oh really?" Olly questioned. "Yep you woke me for your information" Lisa said as she tried to back herself up.
"Coffee?" Lis asked Olly "Go on then, milk and sugar please one and half please" he responded. The boys carried on with watching their sports news and Olly joined Lis in the kitchen, "Boys were good" he asked. "Of course they are both good boys" she said. "So this is how you look in the morning" he liked to be a little bit cheeky. She just looked and smiled, wondering whether if that meant it was good or bad.
"Lis, you know you said you would have Charlie anytime, well would you mind having him tonight?" Olly asked. "Er yes, of course I don't mind, he is a good lad and it's nice for Tommy to have some company. Does that mean he's staying from now? "If you don't mind, it's just my friend has got these tickets for a driving day and then its out with the lads tonight, I would ask my mum but she is at work this morning....", Olly carried on " and it's just nice for him to stay in one place. "Yes sure no worries" she replied. Olly took out his leather wallet from his back pocket "here" giving £20 towards her. Lis waved away the money and said "No, I don't want any money, he's a pleasure to have". With that Olly drunk his coffee and went into the living room to tell Charlie of his plans "So, you will be staying the night again...". "Wicked dad, I'll see you tomorrow then?" Charlie questioned, "you will champ" he responded kissing him on the forehead. To that, Olly thanked Lis once more and said goodbye to the boys.
"So boys what do you want to do today?" Lis asked. So many ideas came out of the hat. It was decided that they were going to go swimming and Charlie would borrow some of Tommy's swim shorts. They went swimming, had dinner and the day had made them tired. They fell asleep at 7.30pm. Lis stuck on the television, opened a bottle of rose wine and started on her ironing pile. She felt relaxed whilst she was ironing. "Beep beep, beep beep" her phone indicated that she had a message, she opened it, it said "Hey hope Charlie hasn't played up too much and you have all had a good day, Miss you xxx" "Miss you" she said to herself, was she reading too much into it or had his phone been hijacked by one of his friends. She dismissed her theories and simply responded "Charlie asleep, been swimming today, been as good as gold x". She went to sleep after sipping her glass of wine and ironing her pile.
"Beep Beep, Beep Beep" it was 3.00am, Lis looked at her phone it might have been important, she opened up the text message " Hey you, just seeing if your still awake for a chat xxx" It was 3.00am in the morning she dismissed the text and went back to sleep.
Olly in the meantime had a few too many vodkas and decided to send a text to Lis, instead of updating his twitter status and declaring his love for her. His management and fans wouldn't be too impressed with that. On his night out with the lads he would tell everyone in ear shot of how he has met "the one". He just hasn't plucked up the courage to tell her.
It was the morning, Lis woke to the birds singing and the sun shining brightly through her light curtains. The boys were still asleep as she couldn't hear the television blaring out like it did the previous morning. She made her way downstairs and made herself a coffee, she remembered about the text message she received in the middle of the night, she thought she would get her own back "Hey sunshine, it's morning wake up!", less than a minute later she receives a text message back saying " Hey I'm up stop bullying me, I'll be round soon". Lis thought to herself I've got to make myself decent again again she made herself over a little bit better choosing a skinny tshirt and jeans choosing to have her straightened hair down and little make up on.
"Ding dong" the bell went at 9.00am, the boys weren't even up yet but Lis was sure the bell would wake them up. She walked to the door with a smile "How's the head? she winded him up "Yes could have been better" Olly said. "Look Lis, I can't stay long have been called to the management to discuss plans to do with America, can he...?" he asked without finishing. "Yer sure, no worries", he didnt have time to see if Lis was really ok with it. The boys got up and stayed in the house today, it was raining, quite depressing really. They played board games, watched alot of sport on television and did chores around the house. "What time is my dad going to pick me up?" Charlie queried, Lis could sense he was missing him " I don't know darling, do you want me to give him a ring?" "No it's ok mum, I mean Lisa", "Are you sure darling I don't mind". About 4.00pm the doorbell rang, Lis asked Tommy and Charlie to answer the door "Daddy" Charlie screamed. Charlie gave Olly a cuddle he walked in, and Lis gave a heart hearted smile, she was shattered and he could tell. Olly walked in with a bottle of wine and 2 large pizzas. "Hey I bought dinner" Olly shouted. Lis was thankful she hadn't started dinner yet, she thought if she had then she would be really miffed.
They all eaten the pizzas and Olly indicated the boys to go upstairs " hey boys why don't you go upstairs? play some games". He wanted to talk to Lis, "hey, you ok?" she got a couple of wine glasses out of the cupboard and began to pour the wine. "hey Lis" he moved closer towards her touching her waist with his right hand, "I know something's up". She grabbed her glass and he grabbed his and moved towards the sofa. "Look Olly, I know it's no business of mine but your about to go to America, yes?, well surely you wanna spend more time with your son" she followed on with "your going to be away from him for a whole month, how can you spend a day away from him. He knew she was right but he responded with "look I wanna thank you with what you have done for me, but it's the type of industry I am in". "Surely they know you have a son though and they could welcome him to come to the office with you". He couldn't respond he knew she was right.
"Lis can I ask you a personal question? Olly asked "Yes?" she enquired "when was the last time you had a break, you know had time to yourself, gone out with your friends", she was embarrassed to say "Erm I can't remember to be honest". She had support from her parents but didn't feel like she should take advantage and ask them to babysit. "Well tonight let me take Tommy away?" he said "Pardon, are you sure? she said excitedly. "Of course, you have helped me out so much and it'll be my pleasure". He called the boys down the stairs with their plans for the evening. Lis gave Tommy and Charlie a kiss on the cheek and looked at Olly and said "I'm sorry for being pissed off earlier it's just..." "babe, look I understand don't worry about it". He gave her a warm kiss on the cheek and looked into her eyes for 5 seconds "have a goodnight babe, I'll keep Tommy safe". He knew that she needed that reassurance, Tommy was her life. They all walked out happily as Lis waved them as they walked away.
