It was the day of the wedding and Olly and Lis hadn't seen each other since they spent their night under the stars. A big case came up for Lis, meaning she had to work all week. Tommy subsequently was passed between family members to be looked after.
Olly was getting himself ready for the wedding day, he was an usher to his friend and was a part of his band Rupert. He wondered whether he ruined it by telling Lis how he felt and if she would turn up in the evening. He text her saying "Morning beautiful, will I still see you pretty face tonight?". He thought to himself, that will answer my question. A text notification came through on Lis' phone, she read it and smiled "Of course this beautiful face will grace you with her presence, see you later x".
Lis wondered and was a bit nervous for going to the wedding reception, "hmmm, what shall I wear, I need to make a good first impression". She finally picked a purple satin dress with nude heels and flesh coloured tights. She hung up her dress outside the wardrobe and had a long bubble bath, Tommy was at her mum and dads. She relaxed, and put her head back and washed her recently cut hair.
"Wedding went without a hitch, see you soon?xx" another text message arrived. Olly didn't want to seem too keen but couldn't resist. "Yes, don't worry just getting ready xx" she replied. He was smiling, "what are you smiling at?" his friend Dan said, "oh you'll see" Olly said looking at his phone. He didn't want to give too much away but he couldn't resist, he was in love and he wanted everyone to know it "you know she is just fantastic, you'll see we just click and she..." . "So what has she got that all the others aint" Dan said as others gathered to eavesdrop, "Mate, have you got an hour? She's not after me because of who I am, she has her own money, perfect mother, gets on with my family...", "She's met your family?" Darren said "She must be a serious one then". Olly smiled "and she has the most perfect little boy, well next to Charlie of course". "Well happy for you mate". Just then a vision of an hourglass body appeared from inside the door frame in a purple satin dress that came up just above the knee, heads had turned toward the vision. "Wow, who is that?" Dan said. Olly's head was the last to turn, he blushed and looked down "That's her, that's Lis".
Rupert and his new bride Tara were standing by the door greeting their evening guests. Lis stopped and excitedly gave each of them a kiss "Congratulations guys, Hi I'm Lis, Olly said I could come with him" she stated doubtfully. "Yes, we've been expecting" you Tara said comfortably. "We've heard all about you" Rupert laughed. "All good I hope, haha, Tara you look absolutely gorgeous and I hope you had a great wedding day" she responded. They chatted like they had been friends for years. "Well I guess I better..." Lis began, "He's over there" pointed Rupert in Olly's direction. She began walking towards Olly and started doubting herself again; do I look ok? will Olly like how I look? what will his friends think of me?
All the doubts faded when Olly looked at her, smiled and winked and reassured her "come over it's ok". He grabbed her waist and kissed her cheek, looked her up and down "thanks for coming, you look so beautiful babe, come on, I want you to meet a few friends of mine". He introduced Lis to all of his friends that were there around him. She made an effort to go round to all of them and give them a kiss each and say hello. "Olly, I'm just going to pop to the little girl's room, I'll be back in a minute". "Yes sure ok, see you in a minute" he held her hand and letting go. "Damn fellas, how do I ask her to be my girlfriend?", "you mean she's not your girlfriend?" Rupert come over and asked. "No, not yet" he responded. "Well don't you think you need to do something about it then?" Dan asked. "I will, just need some dutch courage, oh, crap, I haven't even asked if she wants a drink yet, poor girl been here half an hour" Olly worried.
Meanwhile, Lis was in the toilet cubicle. She heard the voices of girls giggling and laughing "Have you seen that floozy Olly is with?" one of the girls with, "yes, she think she is all that getting to know all his friends", another one of them answered. They were slagging her off, "yes she is probably one of those gold diggers" they carried on, "have you seen how pally she is being with Tara as well", "Yes, Tara doesn't even look that great". Not satisfied that they were bitching about 'Olly's current squeeze', they bitched about the bride too, the wedding that they had just sat down and paid for the dinner they had just eaten and the champagne that they had drunk. Lis needed to get out of there, she didn't want no drama but she couldn't let them get away with what she had just heard. She flushed the toilet walked out to the three girls in mid conversation "Yes, and did you see her...oh erm". Lis smiled "I understand you may or not be Olly's friends and have genuine concern for his well being but when you are talking about someone it's best to check that they aren't in the toilet". Lis didn't let them respond and carried on "Oh and for your information, I think Tara looks absolutely gorgeous, a lovely couple and look so happy together". Lis washed her hands and made a quick exit. The 3 girls just stood there in amazement of the come back.
