You let your burning legs run as fast as you can to escape the grasp of the dangerous man you once knew. This isn't your Jisung. He is no longer your Prince Han that you adore as a child growing up. The secret meetings with him up until now, you remember his details and the little acts he does, they were more than convincing enough that he was Jisung. However, this man that had come to attack you on your special day was not the man you had promised your life with.
Who is this stranger suddenly?
Where is the love?
Where did it all go?
A small vivid image of his beautiful smile flashes through your head and you came to a halt at the memories you had with him.
He was always smiling so brightly...so beautifully.
You gulp down the hard lump of reality down your throat as your heart aches every time you walk down the hallway of memories.
Your body feels heavy as your bare feet ache in pain, bruised and scratched, you hiss at the cold contact is made with the cool floorboard with blood trails.
Your heart remain unsettled as you made it back to the wedding hall. You've run in a circle around the palace, hoping to find somebody to save you but at last, you have come back with nothing and nobody to lean on.
Your eyes feel heavy from crying. You wish to sleep and never wake up as this was the reality you have come to realize.
The palace has grown cold, the smell of heavy smoke lingers in the air from outside, and the only human voices you can make out were the shrieks of your people. You tiredly make your way back inside the main room and let your eyes scan the white decorations, splattered in blood.
The basket of peach blossoms spilled over the floors as it mixes itself with the thick ruby essence that was once a part of life.
You drop to your knees and sigh to yourself.
Silently, you cry.
You cry in silence as you are the only one alone inside your palace. The maids were gone and the knights were slaughtered. The King and Queen were missing but you figure they are dead as the Prince had told you.
Death has taken everybody but you.
Small dripping sound echos in the room where you kneel and your attention was taken by the sound of footsteps again. You pause to listen closely.
You can make out a melody as you listen to the person hum the sweet melody you've heard many times before and your blood runs cold again as you knew who it was that was standing behind the sheers dividing the room of privacy. You can see his lean figure, leaning against the pillars of the wedding room as he waits for you to take the first step.
Carefully, you get up, your feet ache each step you take to the room divider. However, your heart dropped and you really wish you didn't pull the sheer the moment you see the pool of blood formed by the hanging corpse above where the King and Queen were supposed to be seated at the ceremony.
A small dark chuckle echoes through your ears, beside you but you don't dare to move.
Prince Han's deep chuckles echo across the main wedding hall, changing into a hysterical laugh as he tilts his head. He crosses his arms before stepping closer to your frozen figure. Jisung steps in front of you, blocking your attention away from the two royal corpses that you can barely recognize were your parents.
It's as if he had cut them apart piece by piece before putting them back together again. Or even worse, he's cut them open and removed their faces for you to not notice but you did notice.
