Chapter 21
Ludo and Sully stood in shock as Yadaran approached them slowly. His entire frame seemed far larger than it should have, a sense of dread washed upon Ludo and Sully as they were frozen in place.
Yadaran's blade had a magical power emitting from the edges of the sword spear. Every once in a while, Sully saw the sparks of red lightning emit from the edges, the sword was shaped as an oversized knife, the actual blade was shaped as a thick broadsword with a hilt twice the actual blades size, the end of the blades pommel was a dark red crimson gem that was the same color as blood.
Ludo then decided to take a move. His entire body was sweaty from the tension and fear that Yadaran caused just by approaching.
"Sully... Stay back and watch." he calmly said. Ludo had fought beings similar to this Yadaran before, but Ludo didn't know why he was getting so anxious and nervous. Why did this skeletal warrior cause his heart rate to pound twice as fast as regular? He had no clue.
Ludo gripped his vorpal sword. He took three heavy breaths and then began charging up his blade, however, nothing had happened. Ludo opened his eyes and looked down at his blade, his mind full of thoughts.
This can't be happening now!" Ludo thought in terror. The fire gem that Ludo had placed into his pyromantic blade was useless... What had possibly happened?
"You fool... Did you think that we would ever play fair with the likes of you?"
Ludo looked back at the Lich, and saw that he was conjuring a spell of some sort. It was most definitely the cause of the fire gems malfunction. It had to be, normal fire gems that came from tarragon lasted decades, If not centuries
"Sully!" Ludo yelled out. "Stop the lich!"
Sully heard and channeled mana through his palms and after charged, smote the Lich with yellow light that came down light speed at the Lich.
The lightning struck the Lich perfectly, and Sully ran to the lich, only to discover that he was gone.
"You cannot kill me. I am one of the few true immortals on this planet." The Lich proclaimed.
Sully looked around but failed to see any sign of the Lich anywhere.
Ludo was too busy with the battle taking place between him and Yadaran. His blade couldn't conjure the pyromantic spell as he would do so normally,
"The reason why your blade cannot do pyromancy any more is because of my powers. They are manipulating all the magic near me to disable, hence why I am the most powerful Skeletal overlord in the entire land."
Ludo tensed up his arm and thrusted his mana infused sword at Yadaran.
Just because I cannot do pyromancy at this time doesn't mean that I cannot use mana! Ludo realized.
The attack was easily swept away by Yadaran, who guided the attack by simply moving his sword toward the shockwave, which blew it past Yadaran and into the trees behind.
Ludo was dumbfounded by the sheer power of Yadaran. The ten foot overlord towered over ludo, who was already six foot, and outshined him in every way possible. Ludo's attacks were always negated by Yadaran with a simple movement, and Ludo doubted that his pyromantic spells would've even helped.
Ludo suddenly stopped and stood still, partially bent, gasping for air. Ludo was in need of more mana, his reserves were growing dangerously low.
Yadaran smiled a bony grin as he noticed this. He then grabbed his sword spear with both hands and slammed his blade into the ground, the red electricity ran across the ground slam and zapped Ludo, who felt the pain of a thousand needles at every inch of his body.
Ludo dropped his blade from the sheer amount of pain he felt in his body.
"Tell me... How many Mana orbs have you used in your life?" Ludo asked.
"Mana orbs... What is that?" Yadaran responded with confusion.
Impossible! Ludo thought. How did someone so strong not know about mana orbs? There was no way that this was true. What secret allowed Yadaran to be so powerful? It didn't make any sense.
"Ah, Mana orbs, the things that my father continuously uses over and over again. He's at the point of no return." Yadaran finally responded
"How... How are you so powerful?" Ludo gasped.
"That's a secret you will never know."
Yadaran lifted his sword spear straight into the air and charged up his weapon for the final attack. Ludo just fell on his knees and bowed his head. He accepted his fate. If Yadaran was this powerful, Everything would be useless.
Lightning zapped onto Yadarans blade as more and more energy surged to his power. The ground started shaking as more energy Yadaran's blade carried. Lightning continuously striked his blade as Ludo prepared for the attack...
Suddenly, Yadaran slammed his sword spear into Ludo, and saw the electricity run through the ground and explode. Ludo was gone.
Or so he thought.
Ludo was jerked to consciousness by a silhouette that became more and more clear the more Ludo recovered, it was a knight, his astorian armor gleamed as he grabbed a claymore from his sheath... But it was not someone new. Ludo recognized the knight, and so did Yadaran.
"Ah yes... Faron the undying... It seems you have come back for the 13th time."
Faron? Ludo thought. I killed him... The bounty hunter... Why is he suddenly here saving me now?
Faron spoke. "Remember that I become more powerful each time I die, so our last fight won't be so easy..."
It was Faron... The man that he had killed before. Ludo was confused... Why is Faron helping him now?
"I don't have time for this..." Yadaran said angrily. He looked over and saw Sully in the distance.
"Don't you dare..." Faron threatened.
Yadaran suddenly charged up his blade and slammed it into the ground, pure light erupted from where the impact was, and Ludo and Faron both were blinded for a couple seconds, but that was all that Yadaran needed.
"Sully!" Ludo shouted. "Where are you?"
The smoke cleared out and Sully was nowhere to be found.
"They did it..." Faron said, gasping.
"They took Sully for his infinite mana storage..."
