Chapter 14
Ludo pulled out his sword from the dragon's head, thick red blood running on the sides of the once clean blade. An exhausted Ludo jumped down from the dead tarragons body, and landed onto the grass below.
"So how are we going to get to the island?" Sullivan asked.
"We are probably gonna swing using the broken bridge, and maybe die in the process, but hey, we can get to the other side."
Ludo's response was extremely stupid, but Sully honestly couldn't find another way into the vast landmass, so it was their best bet, however dumb it may be.
The skies turned a bit orange, as the beginning of sunset was starting.
Suddenly, Ludo found a sparkly, shiny sight when looking at the dead tarragons head. Stuck inside the middle of the dragon's forehead, was a red jewel, carved with no flaws, definitely a fire gem of some sort, however, it was different from the previous fire gem that Ludo had gotten from Gandel, as this time, it felt more surreal.
Ludo went up to the dragon to examine the gem lodged inside the beast's head.
This must be how the force of the dragon's fire was so much more powerful than normal tarragons Ludo thought, examining the jewel.
The shiny sensation Ludo felt looking at the gem took over. He got a hold of the jewel and popped it out of the dragon's forehead. Immediately, blood started gushing from where the jewel had once been.
He then carefully inserted the fire jewel into the empty space in his pommel, where the old fire gem once was. The gem fitted perfectly in between the crevices, and it glowed just before settling down again.
"Huh! Pyromancy knight!" Sullivan laughed. I guess he's happy that this beast is dead, Ludo thought, examining his blade.
Ludo did some sword tricks and moves, and was astonished to see that the fire spread in the air, like fire on grass. Ludo did an upward slash at the air, and a moment later, a line of fire illuminated the air that his sword once touched before going away like nothing even happened.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Ludo wondered, putting his damascus blade into its sheath.
It was definitely a cool feature, however, it seemed that it would affect his own vision in combat. Ludo remembered what the trainers a long time ago. said If its unnecessary, don't take it.
Ludo didn't want to think about it at the moment. He looked over his shoulder, and saw Sully sliding down the crevice and screaming. "AH" He heard, before a stretching, pulling sound was heard a moment later.
"Umh, I think I'm fine," Sully replied, from the other side.
Ludo went over to the edge of the island, and peeked over. Sullivan was hanging there, holding on for dear life.
Ludo sighed. "You should have let me go first, I made the tactic in the beginning, first off,"
"A bad one," Sully muttered under his breath.
Ludo dropped down, and hung by the rope on the other side.
Hmmn, this might be difficult He thought, looking over at the other side.
"Do you have any momentum gaining spells in your arsenal?" Ludo asked, desperate for an answer.
"Not one I can think of," Sully replied.
"Ah c'mon, you showed me arcane magic back in the forest! Think of something!" Ludo said, tensing his arm.
"Hmmn, maybe something outside of the box?" Sullivan inquired.
