Chapter 28
Draven locked eyes with Ludo, the two getting ready to face off. Ludo had waited years for this, for the fight against Draven that would prove everything false, would justify Alphonse's death. He was ready, and he would for sure decimate him.
The two circled around each other, the room they were in was incredibly dark, but a small light allowed them to clearly see each other.
Draven smirked at Ludo, clearly taunting him.
"You came so far... Just to fail at my hands. How must it feel... To work so hard towards something that would inevitably fail?"
Ludo snarled at him, his vorpal sword shining in the reflection, the sword immediately became bright red, as Ludo channeled mana and controlled pyromancy throughout his blade, soon after, his sword was bright with fire, making the room at least twice as bright.
Draven only laughed at Ludo's magic, only addressing it as a waste of mana and energy. He suddenly leapt up towards Ludo with his battle-axe, Ludo swiftly rolled away, saving himself from an otherwise fatal attack.
Ludo slashed at Draven, who blocked the attack with his ax, and then kicked Ludo's knees in after closing the distance.
Ludo groaned in agony as he heard the sound of the bones crack under Dravens boot. Draven only laughed at how pathetic Ludo's attempt at revenge was.
"Any last words, weakling?" Draven said as he kicked Ludo again in the stomach.
Ludo lay on the floor, and struggled to get up, but eventually got up to his knees.
"Go fuck yourself."
Draven laughed maniacally as he lifted his axe above his head and proceeded to slam down at Ludo with all of his might, Ludo braced for the pain that would eventually end his life...
Ludo was violently awoken from his deep slumber by a sudden jolt that sent him into a frenzy, as his vision became more clear, he saw Faron and Thramor in a metal wagon cage that was carried by 2 magnificent royal horses, white horses with golden ceremonial armor coated around the horses head and body. Four arch knights surrounded the carriage, walking along the cage.
As Ludo's vision gradually adjusted to the light, he noticed that they were in a large magnificent city, with buildings and shops scattered around the area, and numerous pink and purple trees illuminated the sky. It seemed to be noon, the sun shone so brightly it looked as if a sun god was arriving.
Faron suddenly erupted in rage as he banged on the metal bars keeping him inside the cage, yelling at the knights.
"Where are we??? Where are you taking us?"
The arch knights didn't reply, instead just kept walking with the carriage as if they were deaf.
The arch knights are the strongest warrior soldiers in the entire world, their incredible power could only be obtained by getting the best swordsmen from the lands and feeding them mana orbs and elder cones until they became powerful enough to slay dragons with ease. Ludo suspected an arch knight would fell a tarragon without too many issues. It was no wonder that he was helpless against these soldiers of perfection. Ludo wondered how much more powerful he would become if he did absorb mana orbs, all he knew was that few did take them, and those who took too much became insane...
"Can't you see? We are clearly in Astoria." Thramor grumbled.
He was right, Ludo noticed suddenly as the carriage came to a fountain the size of a house that flowed blue mana through its stream. It was the fountain of mana, where many sorcerers and knights came to gather mana and pray to the gods they believed in. the fountain sprayed in a central direction, with all the mana water coming out to a reservoir the size of a pool.
