A/N: I am sorry to announce that I was being an idiot in the Meeting Minho chapter. I forgot to think about trainee times and just wrote that one on the fly. Apparently Minho became a trainee in 2017 and I forgot that. Because of my terrible memory, Minho was a trainee in 2015 for now until I can figure out a way to fix that. Sorry!
(bolded words are in English)
Minaki wandered through the halls, once again lost in the JYPE building. She had gone to the bathroom without remembering that she still, after a month of being a trainee, did not know her way around the place. She didn't even know her way back to the practice room, which was stupid since she had just come from there.
On her long, confusing walk (she was most likely just walking in circles), she had a lot of time to think about the past month.
She had become good friends with a couple of the trainees, like Somi, Lily, and Yejun. She had also become friends with a couple others. They were all really nice, and helped her fit in even though she knew barely any Korean. Speaking of Korean, Minaki had also learnt enough Korean to keep up a basic, slow-moving conversation for more than 15 seconds! That was a huge milestone for her, which was weird because she knew multiple other languages, but never bothered to learn Korean even though it was her father's first language.
Suddenly, she saw a door that she deemed familiar, even though it probably wasn't. Not thinking about the consequences of her actions, she smiled proudly and marched straight into the dark room.
Once she entered the room, she immediately realized it wasn't the practice room. There was music playing softly and a computer screen displaying some kind of software. In the chair in front of the desk was a man, bopping his head along to the beat. At first, he didn't seem to notice Minaki. But then, she stupidly yelped slightly instead of just walking out.
The guy spun around before Minaki could run away.
"I'm sorry!" Minaki squeaked, bowing multiple times. All words in any other language were wiped from her brain in that moment, so she automatically spoke in English. "I thought this was a different room!"
"Ah, that's fine," the guy laughed. "Are you from Australia? You have an accent."
"Um, yeah, I am," Minaki answered.
"I'm Chan, or Chris if you wanna call me that," he said.
"I'm Mikaela," Minaki replied. "I mean, that's my English name. I mostly go by Minaki."
"Where were you trying to go?"
"The practice room," Minaki muttered, making Chan laugh again.
"Tell you what, they probably all went down to eat anyway," he said. "Why don't I take you there instead? You can meet up with your friends after."
"That would be great," Minaki said, relieved. "Thank you so much."
Chan took her down to the cafeteria and went to go get something.
"Aren't you gonna get something?" he asked.
Minaki shook her head and smiled. "They told me to go on a diet."
Chan looked shocked. "They can't do that! How old are you, six?!"
"... I'm eleven."
"Minnie!" Yejun raced over, throwing her arms around Minaki. "Where were you?" Then she noticed Chan. "Oh, hi Chan!"
"Hey," Chan said.
"I'm not letting you out of my sight ever again," Yejun proclaimed.
Chan smiled. "Hey, I'll come find you after training hours, okay Naki?"
Naki was confused, but still smiled and nodded as she was dragged away by Yejun. "See you later!"
When it was later, Minaki was walking around the building again, this time on purpose. She had told Lily that she was leaving and sneaked away while Yejun wasn't looking. Suddenly, she recognized a certain door, and for the second time that day, she burst into it.
This time, it was a door she was looking for.
Chan spun around in her chair, confused. "Training hours are done already?" he asked. Stifling a laugh, Minaki nodded. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I'll just wrap this up and come."
With a smile, Minaki pulled up another chair next to him. "What're you doing?" she asked, propping her chin up on her hands.
"Just working on a new song," Chan replied.
Quietly, Minaki watched him work and recognized it as that thing her brother Willy ran around showing her and Chaerin. When Chan played the full thing, her eyes widened.
"Ooh, that's good," she said.
Chan smiled. "Thanks!"
A while later, Chan saved his work and stood up. Minaki didn't really know how long she had been sitting there, but it was completely dark outside at this point.
"Alright, now we go to the convenience store," Chan said. Minaki looked up at him in confusion.
"Why?" she asked.
"To get you some food, duh," he replied. "Look at you! They're starving you, and you're literally a baby!"
Minaki rolled her eyes. "I'm 11 years old."
"And I'm 18," Chan replied. "We're getting you some food, kid."
Minaki sighed and followed him, standing just a little bit behind the elder as she walked. She wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel about being taken to a convenience store by a 18 year old. But still, her friends knew who he was, and he seemed pretty nice.
(A/N: DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A BAD EXAMPLE!!! MINAKI ONLY TRUSTED CHAN BECAUSE HER FRIENDS KNEW WHO HE WAS AND THEY HAD MENTIONED HIM BEFORE!)
"Alright, wait here," Chan said, having her sit down on a table outside the store. Minaki did as she was told, and a couple minutes later, Chan came back out with two cups of instant ramen and a grin on his face. "There you go! Food!"
Minaki's jaw dropped at the sight of the steaming hot ramen. She looked up at Chan with wide eyes and her entire face lit up, which Chan found incredibly adorable. "Thank you so much, Chan-ssi!"
"Ah, call me oppa," Chan said proudly. "I'm 7 years older, after all."
Minaki smiled and nodded, quickly finishing off her cup. Later than night, Chan walked her back to the girls dorms and told her he'd see her tomorrow. And they did see each other the next day.
And every single day after that.
A/N: Basically, the moral of the story is that Chan snuck her out to get food when she was on a diet, just like he did for the other female trainees :))
