On The Way Here

On the way here from the past
I've gone through different paths

One that was decorated with roses
But the second I touched it
A bleeding wound appeared
With every step a new tinted my skin
I had to stop and have a rest
Wait 'till all the pieces mend

This led me to a place full of fog
I got lost and intoxicated by the smoke
I thought it might be a box
From all the sides every door was locked
One day I got up and tried my best
The fresh air brought me to a forest

It was beautiful, full of life
But in the crowd I couldn't shine
Finally I had it in me to try
Let's see with that tree if I can fly
In the nearby I saw a desert
That everyone here just admired

But the entrance wasn't free
Only the best can live in here
Everyday I sat on a palm tree
Just a few souls out there to see
But here we all wanted to join them
Didn't appreciate what we had left

This place was a lie
We forgot to live our lives
The standards we had to fulfil
Destroyed who we once used to be

All the roads lead to that forest
The place where you seek happiness
