"Is there something you want to tell me?" Perrie asks, staring right into Jade's confused eyes.
"What are you talking about, baby?" the brunette asks, taking a step inside the bathroom.
Perrie takes a step back. The second she gets ready to let Jade have it, they hear a cry come from the living room. It's Zahra.
"We'll talk later," Perrie says, brushing past Jade and bumping her shoulder in the process.
Jade is still confused as to what she could've possibly done to make the blonde so angry. All she did was walk through the door.
She walks into the living room where Zahra is and sits down on the couch. Perrie is in the kitchen, fixing Zahra a snack.
"Are you hungry?" she steps out of the kitchen and asks Jade.
"Umm... no. I'm good," the brunette replies, still trying to read her wife.
She couldn't understand what the problem was. They were fine when she left for work this morning.
Perrie doesn't say anything else; she just turns and goes back into the kitchen. Moments later, she comes out to get Zahra.
"Let me help you," Jade says, preparing to get up.
"I've got it," Perrie snaps back. "Come on, baby. It's lunchtime."
Their curly-haired daughter jumps up excitedly and claps her hands. Instead of following Perrie, though, she runs over and jumps in Jade's lap.
"Hi, baby girl," Jade smiles at her daughter, who is just giggling in her arms.
"Hi, Mommy!" Zahra says, with a big smile.
Perrie looks over at the two of them and feels a burning sensation in her chest, so she walks into the kitchen. It's too much. It sounds wrong, but it hurts her to imagine Jade holding another baby. It hurts her to know that Jade has a baby with another woman. And her ex Jessica, of all people.
Jade walks in with Zahra on her back, still giggling.
She puts their daughter down and sits her at the table, giving her a kiss on the forehead before pushing her chair up.
"Are you going to talk to me now?" the brunette asks, turning to look at her wife.
"No," the blonde simply replies, reaching around Jade to place Zahra's lunch in front of her.
"Why not?" Jade asks, following Perrie back over to the counter as she goes to clean up.
"Not in front of her," Perrie replies, grabbing a rag and wiping the counter down. She feels like she'll burst into tears any second, so she just keeps wiping the same spot on the counter until Jade puts her hand over hers.
"What did I do? Please talk to me," Jade pleads, trying not to be hurt by the way Perrie snatches her hand away. "What's wrong?"
"We'll talk later," Perrie says, moving away from the brunette, because she's way too close. All Perrie can think about when she's that close is hugging and kissing her.
Jade hangs her head and sighs, going back over to the table to play with their daughter. She leans over Zahra's shoulder and steals a bite of the sandwich she's holding.
"Hey!" Zahra says, giggling. "That's mine!"
"Yum!" Jade says, chewing dramatically.
As she plays with her baby, Perrie once again feels herself about to cry, so she leaves the kitchen. Jade looks up and frowns, still wanting to know what's wrong.
