"hey, calem u lost me for a second," this Gary guy told Calem, and then he looked at me, and I had no idea how to react "Hello, you must be...?" he told me; I was surprised, but then I told him my name "I am Serena, and you are...?" I asked him. He seriously looked like someone I had seen
"Gary, Gary Oak," he said. Oak...I have heard that last name, but where?... oh wait, "wait, do u know Professor Oak from the Kanto region?" I asked; he seemed surprised "of course, he is my grandfather after all... wait how do u know him?" he asked I looked at him and smiled Idk why and no, I was not falling for him, and much as things hurt I still love ash
"When I was little, I went to professor oak's summer camp," I told him; he seemed surprised and shocked; he kept looking at me until his eyes were wide open "You are the girl Ash Ketchum was with when you 2 came out of the woods since he didn't know your name he would call you 'girl with the straw hat'"
when he mentioned Ash's name, I felt so upset, and memories came into my mind I tried to be strong, but I couldn't; he was stuck in my mind; no matter what, I tried to smile, but Gary saw that I was faking it cause he did question it
"hey is something wrong? I mentioned Ash's name, and your expression changed completely...did something happen?" I didn't answer, but calem did it for me
"Ash is in Kalos, and they have re-met each other and traveled the region a year, and well, they were starting a new journey again here in Kalos until this girl named Misty came along, and well, Ash started to talk bad about Serena and ended up betraying her," he said
"wait, Misty?? you mean Ash's first travel companion?" I nodded, and he spoke again, "but how Misty.... i...(sights)" He had a different expression as well, not the same as a few minutes ago "Tell me something, Serena..." he said I nodded for him to continue
"by ur expression, do u like Ash as in do u have a crush on him?" he asked, and I nodded he didn't even seem surprised at all
"(sights) Ash has been traveling with a lot of girls, but the only one who had a crush on him too was Misty, and the thing is that I ended up having a crush on her but knowing that Misty is here and Ash betrayed u then there is a chance that ash and misty could end up together even if ash is dense" I looked at him, and tears were rolling down my cheek again, calem hugged me, and I hugged back and cry in his arm.
"calem, what am I going to do... I am trying, but I can't.." I told him
"Serena, let's go on a journey, you and me, and if Gary wants to join too, we can train you and your Pokemon" I nodded, and I looked at Gary. "Gary, do u want to join us?" he looked at me and nodded; we were so happy we decided to keep talking and meeting each other.
Gary told me a lot about himself, like how he is Ash's rival too, the fact that at the age of 10, he had cheerleaders surround him, and even how he is going to become a professor just like his grandfather, he even told us that now he changed and he was willing to leave everything for misty because he said that she didn't like a guy who would be like a playboy.
I was happy, and I told him that we would be good friends; he also asked me to talk about myself, and so I did I told him about how my mom wanted to make me a rhyhorn just like her and calem, but I decide to be a Kalos queen; At first, he didn't know what that was, and so I had to explain it to him I also told asked him if he could help me train and learn how to do battles just like him since he said he was the best and he was a Kanto champion, and he accepted. It was getting dark, so we decided to go to sleep. I took all my Pokemon to my tent, and I fell asleep while the guys fell asleep in another tent.
