Personality: Serious, intelligent, can be controlling, bossy, stuck-up, and boring, but he has a kind heart.
Past: He was the firstborn child of the Kuwata family. Growing up, he has always liked science, but his parents didn't want him to be a scientist. Instead, they wanted him to be a lawyer, so they would always make him do extra work at school, do chores around the house almost every day, and make him study stuff about lawyers for days on end.
When Leon was born, Akatsuki didn't know what to think. He thought he would just be an only child, but he actually ended up caring for his little brother. He always knew that Leon wanted to be a singer, but just like himself, his parents wanted Leon to be a baseball player, so they would always make him go to baseball practice every day, and they would sometimes make him practice at home, too.
However, Akatsuki didn't want to see that happen. He didn't want Leon to be stuck as someone he didn't wanna be. He wanted Leon to be himself, so for his 8th birthday, Akatsuki bought him a microphone, which Leon really enjoyed. However, his parents didn't like that, so Akatsuki was grounded for two weeks, but he knew it was worth it to make his little brother happy.
A few years later, Akatsuki's youngest sibling, Natsuki was born. Just like Akatsuki and Leon, her parents wanted her to be something they wanted her to be, but she wanted to be something else. Her parents wanted her to be a movie star, but she wanted to be a sorceress instead.
Many years after all that, the family found out that Leon was accepted into Hope's Peak Academy. The family has heard a lot of great things about the school, and they were all proud of him. Their parents were especially thrilled that Leon was accepted as the Ultimate Baseball Star. Leon, Natsuki, and Akatsuki, however, were not. They have always known that Leon wanted to be a singer, and being accepted as the Ultimate Baseball Star instead was like a punch in the face.
Leon went to Hope's Peak Academy and had a good time there up until the tragedy. When the killing started, Akatsuki and Natsuki were Leon's motives. Monokuma made it look like that Akatsuki and Natsuki were dead when they actually weren't. A little while after the execution of Leon, the Kuwata family got the news that Leon was now dead. The whole family was devastated about Leon's death, even his parents. Akatsuki and Natsuki were especially devastated that Leon never got to achieve his dream of becoming a singer.
Many years after Leon's death, Natsuki also got accepted into Hope's Peak, or as the new school was called, Hopeglow Academy! Surprisingly, she was accepted as the Ultimate Sorceress, so she was accepted into something she wanted to be accepted as, unlike Leon. The Kuwata family was hesitant about this decision since they didn't want Natsuki to meet the same demise as Leon did, but Natsuki was able to convince them that she'll be okay, and she went to the school. Akatsuki still worries about Natsuki to this day, but he knows he has to have faith in his sister, and he knows she'll get outta there because of how kind, strong, and smart she is.
