15. Naruto did it

Still Naruto p.o.v

Naruto wasn't too proud of himself. Had Joseph really stolen Sasuke, or had he never never been his in the first place?

Naruto's thoughts ran wild as he made his way down the stairs, way slower than he had gone up. Should he go tell Sasuke that they were ready to leave? No that would be weird, plus Joseph thought he had left.

Sakura opened the front door for him, and he left the house looking at the floor.

"What happened? Are you disappointed in me?" she asked him

"No Sakura... this really isn't about you" he sighed walking into the rain.

Sakura looked like she didn't know how to answer, and went ahead to the car, where Kakashi and Tanaka were already waiting.

"Aren't coming Naruto?" Kakashi shouted from the steering wheel.

"No, I'll walk" He wanted to stretch his legs and think for a bit.

"But it's raining! Just come on in" Tanaka said.

"No really, I'm good. I didn't mind the rain"

"Well... go and get Sasuke then, and tell him to come"

He was about to object, but they weren't paying attention anymore.

Naruto did as he was told. He was just so tired, he'd just get it over with.

He walked around to the back with no care. He'd just knock on the door and signal him to come, and then leave and proceed with his walk.

Naruto took his time, kicking a rock against the door. He went nearer to it and looked through the window, and was just about to knock when- he took a step back so quickly he almost tripped, and felt tears start to swell up in his eyes.

Sasuke! That son of bitch.

No, it was wrong to call him that. You can't blame someone for falling in love. And it's not like Sasuke led him on or anything, he knew all along, it was clear as water in the dance contest! Why didn't he prepare himself to see Sasuke putting joseph against a wall? Why didn't he just spare himself this pain by accepting reality??

It was fine. The only reason he felt like this was because Sasuke had promised him that he would be loyal to him next time. And now, out of everyone, he had chosen to fall for joseph. It would've been so much better if he had gotten with Sakura... she deserved him

But if that was all it was why was his chest hurting? He took his hand and put it above his heart; he could tell it was broken.

Naruto got himself back together and started walking to the forest. He knew he was crying, but it was easy to lie to himself and think that it was just the rain... there was so much of it anyway, no one would be able to notice, and it wasn't like anyone was around anyway. He'd allow himself this moment, to cry without knowing why, and feel these feelings he couldn't quite identify. And, when he got home, he'd forget about it all, and he'd never think of it again, and he'd never tell Sasuke about it.

"Naruto!"

Naruto continued walking, picking up his pace. He wouldn't turn around. Ever.

"Naruto!"

Why must Sasuke always show up when he wanted him less? Why, above making him feel betrayed, must Sasuke also embarrass him? Did he hate Naruto that much?

"Naruto listen to me!"

He wouldn't. He didn't care. It would be all lies. Sasuke had lied to him last night! He had made him vulnerable. Naruto cried harder, he wanted to bury his head on the ground. They had held hands!

"Naruto please stop! What's wrong?"

What was wrong?? ha ! I have no idea, he thought, almost running at this point, hoping the the trees in the woods would keep Sasuke away, or that maybe he'd slip on the mud. It was raining so much, maybe Sasuke couldn't even see him.

"Naruto" he shouted, grabbing his arm so suddenly that it made Naruto spin around.

"what the fuck do you want Sasuke?!?"

"I..." He stopped for a second, inspecting him, making Naruto lose his bravado and look away "Naruto.... are you crying?" Sasuke asked so softly he could barely hear it over the sound of the falling drops.

"No. It's just the rain" It was, really.

"Naruto..." Sasuke said again. Why did he keep saying his name? And why wouldn't he let go of his arm. He had to stop this now.

"What!?"

"Naruto, what is it?" he asked, taking a step forward, looking genuinely worried.

"Sasuke! I just saw you with Joseph-" he replied, managing once more to look into Sasuke's eyes.

"That wasn't what it looked like- I swaer"

"What was it then?!" he sighed, running his hand through his wet hair, letting himself out of Sasuke's grasp

"I was-"

"You know what, I don't even care. You're a liar, and I can't take anymore of this" He cried out, turning around, determined not to let Sasuke look at him like this. So broken. So out of himself.

"Naruto! Why are you being like this?! It was nothing!" he continued, after him " And what does it matter anyway?"

This finally made Naruto stop

"What does it matter?" he spit off, still with his eyes on the ground.

"What do you car, Naruto? Why is it such a big deal! why are you acting like this??"

"I don't know Sasuke!"

"Look at me Naruto" He implored, stepping in front of Naruto "Please... look at me" he grabbed Naruto's chin softly.

"Why?"

"Just- what's wrong?"

"I don't know ok?! I don't know how to say it!" he sobbed, not daring to move an inch.

"Try. Try explaining it to me"

"I can't"

"Show me then!" Sasuke shouted over the rain. God why was it raining so much?

They looked at each other. The intensity in their eyes was too much to bear. Everything was too much and Naruto was so angry he could do just about anything.

"Do it" Sasuke muttered.

And he did. He grabbed Sasuke's face and put his lips on his. He kissed him, hard. He kissed him again, and again, and it was like this was the single thing he had been yearning for all his life. His whole body wated him, and all he could think of was more, and more.

What the fuck was he doing. He had just kissed Sasuke. Someone who probably didn't want to be kissed.

He let go of Sasuke's face and tried to pull away, but in that moment Sasuke grabbed his back, grabbed his hips, and pulled him in again, holding him steady near him this time.

Naruto intertwined his fingers in his hair, and they touched each other wherever they wanted, because only the trees were watching. Only the trees would ever know of this. The trees knew Naruto had put his tongue in Sasuke's mouth and loved it, and they wouldn't tell a soul.
