2. There is only one bed

sasuke's p.o.v

Mr. Tanaka's nemesis, mr. Ito was dining at home, him and his family all reunited at an awkward dinner table. It was time for the first snoop.

It was a silly assignment, he thought, silently sliding through the window of one of the many rooms.

Mr Ito's house was at least ten times bigger than Tanaka's. Should he be weary of servants? He deduced that he had certainly gained money at Tanaka's cost, so why would he be planning something against him? He certainly had enough to contempt himself with.

The initial plan was very simple: they'd each come inside by a different far end and snoop until they heard kakashi's signal to leave.

Sasuke silently let himself in. starting with the drawer, he checked for weapons and files. He didn't look into anything in detail since he wasn't even sure what he was looking for at all.

He leaned to the shadows when he heard a loud thud in the corridor. He hadn't seen any signal from Kakashi to leave so what could it be? A pet? An evil pet?

He got closer to the door when it suddenly opened. Revealing Naruto, who looked equally shocked to see him.

"What are you doing here?! This isn't part of the plan!" Sasuke hissed, instinctively pulling Naruto inside and closing the door.

"I- well -I" Sasuke sensed maybe they were too close to each other for Naruto to function, and that if he wanted answers, he'd have to take a step back.

He took his arm from were it stood against the door, releasing Naruto from his hold.

Naruto composed himself, now angry at his own reaction (what the hell was wrong with him??) "I thought this was part of my area to cover!"

"Well It wasn't!" Sasuke angrily whispered back.

"How do you know you're not the one in the wrong place huh?!"

"This is where I came in! I-"

Sasuke was suddenly interrupted by a loud bark right outside the door. It was no wonder they had been spotted, they were almost shouting.

They turned around to see a small red light from outside. That was kakashi's signal, and they had missed it.

At the sound of the dog barking, they madee a run for it to the window. the rope Sasuke had used to climb was gone, and kakashi was signaling for them not to come down from a bush.

They both stared down the window, and saw that mr. Ito had gone out for a smoke and was right under them. they had no choice but to move into the windowsill, closing the curtain behind themselves.

Sasuke reckoned they were awfully close to one another again. Why was it happening so often? what had he done to the universe to deserve this.

Naruto p.o.v

Naruto was fed up of having Sasuke invade his personal space. Granted, in this specific occasion it wasn't his fault, but it was still infuriating to feel the warmth of his arm against his.

"ugh this is all your fault" he had the guts to whisper, agitated with the loud scratching of the dog on the door.

someone opened the door "what's the matter Holly? See, there's no one here."

The dog seemed to be aggressively sniffing around. Naruto was tempted to take a peek at the dog. Was he gigantic or simply an aggressive chihuahua?

He turned his gaze to the curtain and and stretched his hand to it. Just a peek. But he wasn't able to because Sasuke pulled him back.

What is it with Sasuke and pushing me around these days? Naruto huffed to himself

Sasuke grabbed his chin, shocking him further. He turned Naruto's face to his and looked him in the eyes with so much intensity Naruto could've fainted.

"Don't. look" he simply said, not letting go.

Don't look where? at his gorgeous eyes. I mean eyes. just eyes.

Naruto stayed still. Concentrating in the shuffling of the dog.

Eventually the dog accepted his defeat, and as they heard the door close, Naruto let himself loose of Sasuke's grip, grabbing on to his wrist.

He almost said something, but realised he had nothing to say. He stared down, pretending to be interested in the man smoking. realising he hadn't let go of Sasuke's hand, and hurriedly threw it aside before jumping.

Back at the house Naruto was ready to throw himself in bed and forget about all the unusual things that happened with Sasuke.

"so where do I sleep?" he asked tiredly but enthusiastically.

Mr. Tanaka got up from the comfy armchair he was watching the fireplace from, and took in a big breath like he didn't like repeating himself "so as I've tried to inform you this morning, I only have three bedrooms available, two of you will have to share"

Sakura instantly blushed, caught off
guard "I don't mind sharing with Sasuke!" she almost jumped.

No biggie then, Naruto thought to himself, the small inconvenience wouldn't bother him at all, as he would have his own room after all. He sighed, for a moment he thought-

"Naruto is going to have to share with Sasuke"

"WHAT? I DONT-"

"Sakura cant share the room with Sasuke." kakashi stated "she might faint and who knows what she might try to do to him!"

"Hey! I can protect myself" Said Sasuke.

"I WOULD NEVER-" Sakura shouted.

"you would" they all replied in union, with no remorse.

"What about you sensei?!" Naruto faught on "why don't you stay with Sasuke or Sakura"

"Because I want to read my books in peace. Now go on, you and Sasuke will be sleeping right there" he pointed at the door on the far right.

He knew he should put up more of a fight. He had to! But he was so tired... He needed sleep. maybe it could wait until tomorrow... IT COULD NOT. He would not share such a small room with Sasuke! He wouldn't be able to tolerate such an annoying ninja near him ALL NIGHT.

Naruto turned around once more, ready for an argument, but Kakashi was gone.

Without a word, he and Sasuke walked to their assigned room. Naruto opened the door. At least they wouldn't have to share a b-

"THERE IS ONLY ONE BED" He shouted before finishing his thought
