18. Grass.... Grass.... Cow!

Sasuke p.o.v

By the time they were out of the train, Naruto had eaten about 7 breakfasts, and the only thing he asked for was more food and kisses on the cheek, which were happily given by Sasuke. Naruto was a little crocodile and he'd throw himself to him even if he knew he could very well get bitten.

"I had many thoughts about what Mr Tanaka's hometown looked like, but none of them were... nothing" Naruto contemplated.

Sasuke had to agree with him. He looked around and there was just grass, plain plain grass. There was a sign that said city center, but pointed... to absolutely nothing.

"So we just follow the sign I guess...?"

"Yes that does seem like the sensible thing to do" Sasuke sighed, holding his hand out for Naruto to hold.

They walked around for half an hour until Naruto just couldn't do it anymore.

"We're lost!" He shouted, sitting cross legged on the floor.

"We're not lost!"

"But we are! I can't see anything in a mile. We're lost in the middle of grass! There is n o  O n e. We can't even ask for directions"

"Ok let's not worry before we have to-"

"But we do! It's almost time for lunch"

"Are you seriously-"

"Yes I'm hungry! I vowed a long time ago never to miss a single meal."

"But even if we are lost there's nothing we can do. We just have to keep walking"

"Wait!" Naruto shouted, seeing a man approach from far away.

The man had something behind him. Multiple things actually. No, not things. Cows! Adorable cows. Sasuke almost melted at the sight of them.

Grabbing Naruto's wrist, he started running in his direction.

"Mister! Please wait" they both started shouting in union, waving their hands like idiots.

Finally, the man took notice of them, and seemed to light up at their sight.

"oh hello travelers" he spoke rather formally "You look tired. Traveling in these lands is not easy!"

"I knowwwww" Naruto answered, looking comfortable "it's endless, we followed a sign that said that the city center was this way, but like UGH"

"I hear you friend! If I hadn't grown up here I wouldn't know where to go! But there's a secret to all of this..."

"Oh please share!"

"You need a cow-"

But by that point Sasuke wasn't listening anymore, because the cutest cow caught his eye. He walked over to her and started petting her, witch seemed to make her happy.

"Hello!!" He said cheekily to it. She seemed to understand and mooed back.

"Omg you're so cute, I'm going to die" he melted "what's your name?"

"That's good old Betty!" The traveler said, now paying attention to him. God he probably looked so stupid, for a second he thought he might be able to talk to the cow.

Naruto walked over to him, and let his arm fall over Sasuke's shoulder.

"Sasuke do you want this cow?" he asked, almost taunting him for the weakness he had shown.

"N-"

"Sasuke we can get the cow, they're for sale, they're like a GPS out here. They'll take us to the city"

"I- I do- yes- I want the cow"

The cow gave a little hop and licked Sasuke's face, making them both laugh.

"Ok, then. That'll be 1 million euros for Betty the cow"

"A MILLION!?" Naruto jumped, his eyes almost popping out of his face.

"This ain't no ordinary cow! These cows are of a magical breed that only comes alive in these grassfull lands! She knows the way around like no man can, and might have other magical properties, but we can't know when they'll show"

"But- a million "

"We'll take her" Sasuke stepped in, seeing how sad his new friend looked.

"Sasuke we could never afford-" Naruto whispered to him, panic evident in his voice.

"Naruto, I'm the sole heir of the Uchiha clan's belongings. A million euros is not easy, but it's possible"

"But do you really want to-"

"Yes" He answered without hesitation. Usually when he met new people, his first instinct was to dislike or fear them, but with Betty, he felt a comfort that he couldn't easily get from other people.

"Naruto, do you want her too?" He asked him, staring deep into his eyes.

"Yes" he answered, lightly taking Sasuke's hand in his, and nodding.

"You've just gotten yourself a million euros" he turned to the man and took a check from his pocket.

"Since when do you walk around with checks?" Naruto asked impressed.

"I usually don't but since we were traveling I thought I'd bring them. What did you think we paid the train tickets with?"

"I don't know...."

The man took out a pair of keys, and Betty looked afraid just to be near him. He unlocked her from the bunch and she ran straight to Sasuke and Naruto.

"It was a pleasure doing business with you" .

He rapidly said goodbye and went on, eager for his next costumer.

Betty jumped up and down and happily licked their faces.

"We have a cow now!" Sasuke laughed. He'd never been the impulsive kind, and he was rushing with adrenaline for the money he now didn't have.

"Are you happy?" Naruto asked him, looking worried.

"Yes. I most definitely am"

"Good. I am too. Lead the way Betty!"

"Mooooo"
