Chapter 15

“What are you doing here?” asked chan who was thoroughly confused as to what Felix was doing here with Hyunjin when he was supposed to be in a faraway place but it didn’t take him long to realize that Felix had lied about his whereabouts to him.

“H… Hyung, I…” stuttered Felix as he failed to form an excuse

“Why are you stuttering? Don’t even think about making any excuses. Just tell me what is going on right now.” Demanded Chan

“Sorry, hyung.” That was all Felix said as he lowered his head. He didn’t have any excuses to make and he also didn’t want to lie anymore to chan.

“For god’s sake don’t just stand there and apologize. Explain to me what is going on with you and what are all these?” asked a fuming chan while pointing at the bruises on Felix’s face

“Hyung calm down a little. Let’s talk it out.” Said Hyunjin as he saw Felix not being able to say anything in front of chan due to the guilt of lying to him.

“Hyunjin, I am in no mood to joke and you specifically shouldn’t talk with me right now. I am way angrier on you than I am on Felix.” warned chan

“What? Why is that?” asked Felix who was finally able to say something

“I will explain that later. Let’s just go now. You both are public figures and it won’t do you good if this continues here.” Said chan as he finally regained his posture and saw the situation they were in. some people had already started to gather around and notice them due to the commotion.

“Yeah, let’s talk about it calmly. Let’s go.” Said Hyunjin but as soon as he started walking with Felix, Chan stopped him by placing his hand on hyunjin’s shoulder

“Not you. I will handle you later. I want to talk with Felix right now.” Said chan in a voice that indicated that he was in no mood to be joked with right now and therefore Hyunjin and Felix decided that it would be best if they didn’t provoke him further

“Fine, you go ahead.” Said Hyunjin as he looked towards Felix for affirmation

“Will you be okay?” asked hyunjin in a hushed voice after chan went forward a little

“I will be okay. He won’t hurt me at all.” Mouthed Felix before he dashed off toward Chan

After Felix and chan both left the store, they got into chan’s car and went to Felix’s house. The whole ride, chan hadn’t spoken another word to Felix and this made Felix more anxious than before. After they both went inside the house and sat down on the couch, chan finally asked Felix.

“Why did you lie to me?” asked chan with a stoic face

“I didn’t want to but I didn’t want you to worry about me.” answered Felix

“Who did that to you? Was it Hyunjin by any chance?”

“What? No, No. Of course not. It just happened that I got into a fight yesterday and I thought you would be worried if you saw me like that, so I didn’t say anything. I am sorry.” Said Felix

“Then tell me why did you get into a fight?”

After chan finished asking this question, Felix started to explain everything to him. He made sure to not leave out a single detail of what happened last night to not provoke chan any further than he already was. Chan usually was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy who was cheerful but also took great care of Felix. He was kind, sweet, and lovely but the only thing he didn’t like was lies. He didn’t like liars.

“So you are telling me that yesterday you got into a fight alongside the hangang river with a group of people who were badmouthing Hyunjin. Am I correct?” asked chan

“yes, that’s all.” Replied Felix

“But I still don’t understand why you would do that for him and why the hell were you with him at that place so late at night? Are you dating him or something?” asked chan with a look in his eyes that made it evident that he found the entire situation way too much suspicious

“What are you saying? No, I am not dating him. I didn’t tell you but he and I became friends after we met at the restaurant. After that, we have been hanging out at times and have been in contact.”

“Why are you friends with him?” asked chan

“What? What do you mean?” asked Felix as he was curious as to why chan was acting the way he was over hyunjin

“Don’t pretend that you don’t know. I know everything about that text incident and all that happened that day.” Said chan who was still maintaining the stoic face

“Wh… what do you mean?” asked Felix as he again found himself struggling to answer Chan.

It had always been like this. Felix had never been able to properly lie to chan on his face and now that Chan was interrogating him, he didn’t know what to say.

“Don’t feign innocence. It won’t work on me. I know why you deleted that chat history with hyunjin.” Said chan while tilting his head

“How did you know, hyung?” asked Felix

“It doesn’t matter how I know about this. I just do.”

“Then do you want me to apologize?”

“What? No. of course not. It’s not your fault so why should you apologize? What I don’t understand is why you would hang out with hyunjin even after he did that.” Said chan finally showing some kind of emotion on his face

“I don’t mind it anymore hyung. He didn’t know me and I didn’t know him so the misunderstanding happened but now that it is all cleared I thought it would be good to be friends with him.” Said Felix as he finally was able to relax now that chan had gotten over his anger

“You may not mind but I do. And it’s one thing if I saw it but you saw that message. I am going to teach that guy a lesson.” Said chan but as soon as he said these words, the expression on Felix's face changed drastically. He looked angry of sorts and chan couldn’t understand why Felix was acting like this.

“You are not going to do any such thing.” Commanded Felix with an insanely deep voice which even sent shivers down chan’s spine.

He hadn’t expected Felix to act that way for hyunjin and although chan was a little hurt that Felix acted this cold to him, this statement got him to self introspect the problem’s root cause. After a few minutes of silence, chan finally asked something but as soon as Felix heard it, he couldn’t stop his heartbeat race like crazy.

“I never thought you would act like that towards me. But you did for Hyunjin. So I don't know what is going on between you two but by any chance do you like Hyunjin, Felix?” asked chan seriously

As soon as Felix heard what chan had asked, all his previous anger dissipated completely and he wasn’t sure what to say anymore. He had tried so hard to control his feelings and not make it obvious but now it was pretty clear that Chan was quick on the uptake. Before this moment, felix still had doubts about the authenticity of his feelings for hyunjin and if those feelings were of love and not just attraction but now that he was asked the question, the thing that he wanted to say at the moment was only one. As if in a trance, he proceeded to say that one thing that he had never expected to come out of his mouth in this lifetime.

“I like him, Hyung.”
