Chapter 18

After a few moments of embracing each other in silence, Hyunjin finally calmed down a bit. But just as all his thoughts came back to him, all the questions also did the same. Hyunjin was utterly surprised to see Felix at that place to save him. Never in his wildest dream had he imagined Felix to be the one to find him so soon and although he didn’t want to show it, it was evident that he was very nervous about the whole situation.

“What are you doing here? How did you even find me?” asked hyunjin as he finally let go of Felix

“I am obviously here to save you. What kind of question was that? And I will tell you all the details after we leave this wretched place so you should leave your questions for later.” Replied Felix

“Don’t tell me you came alone.” Said Hyunjin as he felt a sudden wave of worry wash over him

“Yes. I came alone.” Said Felix as he chuckled lightly at the expression on Hyunjin’s face

“Are you crazy? You will get hurt if that guy came back. You shouldn’t have come alone.” Said hyunjin

“Enough of the nagging. Let’s just go out of this place. You can scold me as much as you want later.” Said Felix as he cut down the ropes that had tied down Hyunjin’s hand and legs around the chair.

As Felix and Hyunjin slowly made their way toward the car, they couldn’t help but be cautious about their surroundings. They didn’t know if that crazy guy had come back but seeing that there was still no car nearby, meant that the person they were afraid of running into was still not there. After they both entered the car and locked the doors, Felix turned on the car engine and was just about to leave when he heard the screech of tires around the place.

Thinking that it was the kidnapper who had come back, Felix couldn’t help but panic at the thought of something bad happening to hyunjin. Therefore he tried to press on the gas and speed up the car but he was stopped in his tracks when a car suddenly came forward and stopped in front of him thus closing the way out. Just as Felix was getting ready to run over anything that came in front of him, he heard a soft tap on his side of the window and that shocked him to no extent.

But fortunately for him, the man who had approached them was not the kidnapper but a person who had been dispatched to bring hyunjin back. It was the special security force of the company that his sister had told him about and as they were stuck in traffic, they were able to reach the place a little late.

“Who are you?” asked Felix as he rolled down the window just a little to hear what the other person was saying

“I am mark, the head of the security team of SW enterprise. I was asked by Ms. Lee Olivia to safely bring back a man named Hwang Hyunjin. But seeing as he is already comfortably sitting with you in a car, it seems evident that you are not the kidnapper. May I know who you are?” said the man in the deepest voice he could produce out of his cord. It seemed like he was assessing the safety situation and trying to intimidate the man in front of him.

“So you are the ones sent by my sister? Fine. Then it’s okay. I am lee Felix. I am sure I don’t need to say anything further than that.” Replied Felix in the same deep voice as the man.

To the unversed, it might seem like some kind of comedy skit going around but it was the nature of the situation that had led them to act like this. They both were still skeptical of each other and Felix didn’t want to take even a small chance that might harm Hyunjin somehow. But surprisingly for Felix, the man in front of him changed his stance as soon as he heard his name. This also led to Felix relaxing a little as he knew that if the man in front of him knew his identity just from his name, that means that it must be a person who is well versed with the lee family and SW enterprise.

“Ah, so you’re Mr. Lee Felix. Sorry for my rude behavior earlier. I was simply trying to assess if you’re a dangerous person or not.”

“It’s okay. But mind telling me why you’re so late when my sister clearly said that you would arrive soon?” asked Felix

“I am sorry for this but our team couldn’t come sooner as there was way too much traffic at the place we were before this.” Said mark as he bowed slightly to apologize to Felix

“It’s fine. Now I am taking away Hyunjin to the hospital with me so you should take care of the mess here.” Said Felix as he turned on the car engine once again

“Wait for a minute, sir. I think you should take some of our agents as escorts just in case.” Suggested mark

“No need for that. I need to take Hyunjin to the hospital as soon as possible. It will be okay. Just make sure that you catch that person as soon as he comes here. No matter what, he shouldn’t be able to leave this place on his legs.” Said Felix before he pressed down on the gas and sped off towards the road, leaving the agents behind them.

Throughout the previous conversation between mark and Felix, Hyunjin hadn’t said even one word as he couldn’t process what was happening around him all at once. His confusion was visible on his face and seeing that Felix decided to quench his curiosity.

“Is there anything you want to ask me?” asked Felix

“I do want to but I don’t know what to ask.” Said hyunjin

“If it’s regarding the man we met just before, then he works at our company. As you heard, he is in the security team.” Said Felix while he kept looking at the road in front of him

“Just who are you? you sound like a rich chaebol when you talk like this.”

“I will tell all that to you later when the time is right but now we should go to the hospital at once. Take a little rest. You must be tired.”

“I am okay. But I still can’t believe that we were able to leave that place this easily.” Confessed Hyunjin

“What do you mean by that?” asked Felix

“Nearly all the times that I have seen kidnappings in movies or shows, it was always like fighting with the kidnapper. A dangerous situation all the time. And all that stuff but you managed to take me away so easily.”

“I am glad that you can joke about this but honestly speaking, I was also surprised that it was this simple. I thought I would have to hit that guy on the head at least once to protect us both but he was nowhere to be found at all.” Confessed Felix

But unfortunately for them, their words seemed to come back to bite them at the end. The situation they thought was very simple had just become not so simple, when they found that a car was following them for some time and it didn’t take long for Felix to realize that it was the same car that the kidnapper had used while going out.

As panic spread over the both of them, Felix increased the speed of the car to escape any possibility of them being caught. Unbeknownst to them, the kidnapper had arrived at the shed some time back but as he saw cars and several people surrounding the place, he didn’t go over to the place and instead hid at some distance to take a look at what was happening and when he saw that one car was leaving, he decided to follow the car.

“Shit, did he follow us or what? How is he here?” asked Hyunjin as panic spread over his body

“That doesn’t matter, we have to go fast, or else he would catch up to us.” Said Felix as he turned around to take a look back to see if the car was still there but he was relieved to find that there were no signs of the car. But his relief didn’t last long when he heard Hyunjin shout out something.

“FELIX…”
