Part 17 (this is going to skip to like a week since her injury)

It's been about a week since my back injury, it has gotten a little better but still really painful. Kai calls to check in everyday to make sure I'm not hurting myself anymore. Dean and I are okay, we hang out when we can but since he had hockey, he's busier than me. Rick has been hanging out with me though, usually after he is out of practice which is before JV starts theirs's he will come hang around while we get ice cream or work on some homework that's due. today was one of those days, I was walking with Rick to his car as he wanted to go get some freezes from the freezie shop in town so that's what we are doing. we walked in and ordered our drinks before taking a seat at one of the booths having a normal conversation about the upcoming game, JV verses Varsity
R- the only rough patch I have is the aim yk? like I can get the puck straight to the goal but when it comes to shooting, I'm a complete mess
I chuckled a little drinking my freezie before looking at him
A- aiming isn't that hard Rick
R- oh really?
A- yes really! it's not the aim that's off it's the way you're shooting it!
he looked at me with his eyebrow raised as I was chuckling
R- explain to me than how the invincible reaper with the back injury shoots so perfectly
A- well you see you have to base it off where the goalie is position than fake it out at the last second, sometimes you have to past it backwards between your legs to the teammate behind you which works out so you can get closer to the goal
R- oh? does that always work?
A- the first one yes but the second is all about chance, you have to take that chance to make sure it goes the correct way yk?
he nodded and we continued to talk an finish our drinks before heading back to the dorms which was a 10 minute drive from where we were. Once we got back Rick went to his team while I walked back to my dorm only to be greeted by my brother
A- oh? what do I owe the pleasure?
he looked at me as I cocked my eyebrow confused shutting the door, he looked stressed.
A- what is it? why the long face?
Luis grabbed my hand making me sit on the bed which I had to shift a bit, so it was more comfortable for myself as he looked at me
L- I needed to tell you something but you have to promise not to tell anyone, not even rick, okay?!
I was even more confused now but by the look on his face, he wasn't playing around
A- um okay? what is it???
L- I kissed Mindy!
I looked at him trying to make sure I was hearing him correctly but when he didn't laugh, my eyes widen in shock and my face dropped
A- Luis Joseph Mendonza! why would you kiss another guy's girlfriend?! especially Rick's! they have been together for years and you kiss her!
L- it just happened! why are you so mad about it!? she kissed me! she leaned in and I let it happen!
A- I'm mad because one I hang out with Rick and before you go off on a whole fit we have been hanging out for a while ever since we did that project for English! two you kissed another guy's girlfriend! that's wrong Luis!
he scuffed looking at his dolphin chain fiddling with it which is something he does when he is nervous, I sighed putting my hand on his shoulder causing him to look at me
A- i won't tell rick or anyone for that matter. but i do recommend you stop what is ever going on between you two. it won't end good, not for her or you. I don't want to see you get hurt, speed
speed was the nick name I gifted him when we first joined hockey, we were young when we joined, and our mom was around still. she also called him speed after I said it, so that's always stuck with it
L- I get it, thanks for trying to help death machine
and he always called me death machine because my first game of hockey, I broke a kids nose by slamming his face off the boards. let's just say I wasn't allowed to play for a long time after. anyways, Luis and i finished up are little talk before he had to go finish up some late homework that was due a week ago so I did some of my work before taking a quick shower using the shower bar that's on the wall to help me. it was painful still but I managed. I got out of the shower and dried myself off completely before putting back on the brace and getting into some comfy clothes like normal. I did my skin care and brushed my teeth before climbing into bed, julie and connie still haven't come back but I was too tired to wait for them. I had my eyes clothes when I heard the door open and shut. someone came in an laid next to me, based off the buttercream scent. I knew it was Dean. I rolled over putting my head in his chest as he wrapped his arms around me kissing my head. something felt off about it but I was too tired to find out what.
