Chapter Five | Stressed Out

"Yes, mom, I'm fine; I'm heading to the library to study with a friend."Seth was over the phone with Asha, walking away from the astronomy tower at the school and heading to the library.

"How was school today?"

"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore, but school was fine."

"Your father has a pack meeting; he would like you to join him."

"Mom, it's my first day; I got homework."

'Seth, you're a smart kid; this stuff is easy for you. Your father and I have taught you everything." Asha's sweet voice says through the phone.

Seth stretched out his hands, the feeling of the endless writing still in his muscles. "Mom, I have to go. I'll text dad if I can make it. Later"

"Bye, my little star." the phone hangs up, and Seth opens the door to the library.

Tara was working at a table, and with her notebooks open, she rubbed her eyes in pain. She drinks her coffee in despair, slams her head against the table, and opens her computer.

"Hey Bunny.'Seth whispered, making her jump and fall to the ground. Seth covers his mouth, smiling.

"YOU DICK," Tara said, smacking his chest and a few students shushed them, making her more frustrated.

"Are you okay?"Seth said, taking a seat next to her. "Can you tell me what happened?"

"Classe are just a lot harder than usual. She pushed her head back and went back to studying. Seth sat across from her and would peer over his computer to look at his friend.

"Did you enjoy any of your classes?"Seth asked, closing his computer and opening his notes. She looked up at him, raising a brown confusion.

"that oddly parent-like.yeah, I guess I did enough in some of my classes."Tara said, smiling behind her computer screen.

"I just got down talking with my mom. She was asking about school."

"I have a question.Tara adrublty closed her compter.What are your parents like?"

"Normal parents. I've lived up to their standard and never pushed the boundaries. I'm a good son."

"Really?"Shocked laced her voice, and Seth looked at her.

"You thought I was some Mysterio, bad boy?"

"I mean, wolves do eat innocent little grandmas," Tara said, smiling, covering her face from laughing out of pure spite. Seth looked at her, rolling his eyes.

"You think your so funny, don't you?!"Seth said, kicking her under the table. they started playing footies, and tara turned red. "God, you're so annoying."

"You haven't killed me yet, so I'm enjoying myself."Tara smiled."But you didn't answer my question."

"I did; you just didn't pay attention like always."Seth fumbled

"What's that supposed to mean?" she said, dropping her smile."Is this because of what happened in English and trust?"

"No...No.I would have called you out if you were dumb; you more incompatible than Milo, that's for sure. It's just I don't have many friends outside of the pack, and Milo is the only one I trust, but I trust you."Seth held her eyes and she looked ta him. Her eyes dilated."Why aren't you scared of me."

"I have nothing to lose," Tara said opening up her textbook.

Seth POV

This girl is not who I thought she was. She doesn't care if I hurt her hell she wasn't scared when I told her the truth. It is like this girl isn't scared of death. How can a mortal not be scared of death?

I checked her hands as she typed, She had no ring and she didn't wear one during class. it is still sunny outside. She asked about my family. Would it be weird if I asked her?

"What about you, what's your family like?"I asked she looked up from her textbook.

"Seth I'm busy can't we study."Seh diverged from the question Seth raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you so defensive."

"I'm not defensive.'Seth scoffed out at her words. "Can we please study?"

We spent the rest of the time studying but something was off. she put something between us." you know you can trust me right?

"Yeah."She was getting bored.

I grabbed my things and walk behind her grabbing her stuff."Let's go."

"I can't, please just let me study.'"She tried to grab the book but I closed it and started walking."Seth comes back here she pouted."I tried not to smile.

"Sweetheart there's something called taking a break."I tried to sound seductive I raised my brow and she got flustered grabbing her things and walking to me."That's a goodbunny, you've worked so hard why don't we get a snack,hm?how does that sound."

"That sounds nice."she became small and fragile like a little flower you didn't want to hurt I but my hand on he rbakc and ledher out of the library. the school had a cafeteria for students that on campus.I lead her to the frozen yogert places.

(Search up YALE cafeteria, bro its like packed and shit.So that vibe.)

SHe grabbed a cup and started making her ice cream.She was quite she must've been tired I could tell her eyes got heavier and she was mocing slower.I grabbed mine and we sat at a table.

"I hope you know I'm doing this so you don't just starve yourself. you need rest and food."

"Ice cream isnt food."She said,she put the spoon in her mouth licking away all the frozen yogurt I couldn't helpbut stare out her mouth. I caught myself and just looked at her eyes.

"Can you tell me what happened?you got quite after bring up parents."

"I on have the best relationship with them."She laugh a bit."I have a terrible relationship with everyone.I dated a complete loser for a year and a bitch was my best friend. It's just this year cant get any worse."

"What do you mean by worse, you met me this year?and the year isn't quite over your just over reacting.so calm down okay?I said she was getting flustered she put her ice cream down and pushed back her hair. she did that when she was stressed I liked it.

"Your rght i guess."she leaned back in her chair.

"Get some rest okay?"I said getting up and patting her head."Ill see you."I waved and walked out of the cafetirea.

Tara POV

as he left my face was still especially after he patted my head. Im not the dog, he is .why did he make me feel like thhis.All the the text. the countless checking on me.I just met the bastard and just got out of a relationship. I got out of campus and it was 8 the sun was setting and wanted to get home before anything bad happaened. I got to my car quickly and started to drive to my place. the school was a bitfarther from the main city where I lived. the school was near forest and houses, seth said that he lived deeper in the outerskirts with all the cabin and bigger houses.I was heading down hill when somthign passed by me out of no where.

I slammed on the breaks andmy eyes tired to spot the black and sparkly blurry that just passerby my car. I started to breath heavily. 'tara breath, your fine. Everythgin fine.I had reasure myself.'I started the car again going bit faster then I prefer, and get to my apartment.lock my door and head to my room.

a black and sparky smoke was watching tara from her window till she turned around and it disspared.
