Seth procrastinated telling his parents what happened with the human girl; he finally made plans after three weeks of keeping it to himself—and beating Milo to a pulp to keep his mouth when he went to his parent's house for dinner. The day after the party.

"It is so nice to see you, honey."Seth's mother gave him a hug when he arrived at the door. "Come help me with dinner."

"Where's dad," Seth asked, taking off his coast; he walked into the kitchen and washed his hands. His mother handed him an apron and tied it around his waist.

"So what's the special occasion for, your father is out in the back."Seth's mother was on the stove making the food, and Seth was at the cutting board.

"Ma, can your son just come over." Seth said, peering over her shoulder

"nope, not my son. you either have news or did something." he started talking.

"Ma let's wait for dad okay.we can eat, then I'll tell you and dad."Seth said, cutting the food that his mother handed him.

"Asha, I'm home.'A booming voice is heard from the back of the house."I was doing some yard work."Seth's father comes into the kitchen to find his son and wife."Oh, hey, slugger didn't know you were stopping by.

"Hey, dad."Seth looked at his father. "We are almost done with dinner, and I have something to tell you both.

"Oh wow.My son with the big news."Seth's father said, laughing a bit, kissing his wife on the cheek."Hear that, my love."

"I'm all ears, Erick," Asha said, giving a kiss back to her husband. They all sat around the dinner table. Seth felt like a little kid and had to tell his parents he had done something; he hated the feeling.

"So what's the big news Seth," Erick said, propping his elbows on the table and looking at his son.

"I went out with Milo, and something might have happened," Seth said

"Did you get drunk, son? You don't need to tell us you had alcohol; you're 22; you are allowed to drink," Asha said, laughing into her wine glass.

"No, a human girl."Seth took a deep breath before continuing the sentence. He looked at his parents; his mother was confused, and his father kept a still face."She found out about me."

"You transformed in front of her?"Erick's voice got louder than you should have a dinner table. Seth kept his face under control, but his heart was beating out of his chest. He had a scary look; that made him and milo still feel like they were kids.

"I told her to stay put, but she didn't listen; she followed me, okay. Then she got into a fight with her best friend for sleeping with her boyfriend. Dad, you can't get mad at me."Seth said, keeping his composer.

"I can get mad at you! You are better than this and the smartest. How did you get caught by some girl? You met her once and know what, you think she won't tell anyone. That I could trust her."

"YOU! Did the same thing with mom," Seth said. Erick stayed quiet."How is this any different? I'm happy I have a life from the pack and all this supernatural shit. Cause sometimes I wish I was fucking typical."Seth stormed out of the dinner table and ran out to the backyard.

His parent's house was in the middle of the woods and not so far from a stream connected to a lake. They had a lot of lakes in Rosehaven. Seth transformed into a wolf and started to run. He needed to get out; this helped. He was running, going away from his troubles. after getting in a fight with his father; he needed to blow off some steam.

Asha

They continue to eat silently, Asha pouring herself some more wine before talking with her husband."He's right you know, before I told you, you told me.' she looked at her husband. 'when you thought I was human."

"It was different back then; he doesn't know."

"Neither did you; you were just as young as him."Asha scoffed in her wine glass.

"So what, I had to be perfect and not tell you to most important thing in my life," Erick said, looking at him.

"No, it's that you trusted me enough with the most important thing in your life, then when I told you what I was, you didn't distort at the idea."Asha said, putting the dishes away."So what is the difference? Our son trusts this girl enough not to eat her."

"Did I make a mistake?"Erick asked, looking at his wife.

"You should go ask him that question.' Asha said, wrapping her arms around her husband. kissing his cheek. ' Go talk with your son."

"When did you get to know exactly what I needed to know," Erick said, looking up at her.

"Dealing with you for the last 27 years, I'm a godsend," Asha said, returning to the kitchen.

"What a woman you are," Erick said, pulling her into a warm embrace. Sparks flew between them, acting like there drunk on love.

Erick rushed out to the backyard to find his son. He would be near the water. Erick grimaced as he transformed his grey and white coat blown back from the wind as he ran, finding his son. He could hear howling a mile away. He ran to find his son transformed back into a human, throwing rocks into the water.

"Son, can we talk."

Seth looked at his father and walked to him, crossing his arm. His father was still tall, but Seth had a few centimeters on him. He looked at his father."Yes?"

"Your right; I have done that before, and it is not right that I'm getting mad at you for doing that same thing. I'm just worried."

"Dad, I can handle myself; I've been doing a good job of that since I moved. I know Tara won't hurt me."

"You trust her that much already?"Erick wondered at his son's words

"Of course I do. She's so pure and innocent. like a bunny so lost and needed to be found."Seth said.

"where you are all dark and brooding and where batman for five years straight."

"Dad?!!?"Seth said, sounding annoyed at his father for teasing him.

"So, your done hating me?' Erick asked his son, and Seth nodded; he hugged and patted his back."I hope you know I'm just worried about you.

"An, I hope you know I tell you everything."

"I'm lucky to have you, slugger."Erick looked at his son and smiled.

"Beat you to the house," Seth said, running and transforming.

"No fair."Erick chased after him howling in joy as he transformed; they ran back to the backyard, but Erick jumped on Seth, bringing him to the ground; they began to roll around in the grass, howling with joy.

"Alright, quiet you two; I just watered my plants; don't want you boys to get messy," Asha said, and the boys transformed back. "So you made up?"

"Yeah, I wouldn't be okay if my kid hated me."Erick said."I need to get ready for a meeting. By Seth."

"Bye, Dad," Seth said; going on his phone, Erick walked up to his wife.

"I'm so lucky to have you," Erick said, kissing his wife's forehead.

"You better be, "Asha said, kissing his lips as he left for the meeting. Asha looked at her son."Tell me about the girl."

"I just met her mom. I know nothing about her. we talk, that's all."Seth said, sounding defensive; his mother looked at him; they sat in the living room, and she closed the door.

"Can I tell you something about your father? Seth nodded.' when I first met him, I didn't know what he was and didn't tell him who I was, but when he did, nothing changed. I fell in love with his heart and soul, who he was. And my baby boy, you're a fantastic person, and any girl is lucky to have you."Asha held her son's face, and Seth looked at her.

"Thank you, mom," Seth said, sitting back on the couch and watching a movie.

On the side table near the tv is a photo frame with the family—Asha and Erick. Seth holds his mother's hand, and the older boy is beside Erick. He had his mother's eyes and father's nose—their oldest son.
