Chapter Nine | Protection

Tara's heart was beating out of her chest; what was Ki going to do to her, she tried to jab his ribcage, making him lose his grip, but he didn't budge. Tara turned and saw Seth transformed in his black fur coat running towards Ki. He pounced and landed on Ki, making Tara get out of his grip. Milo came running and grabbed Tara's wrist. 

"We need to leave, "Milo demanded, trying to take her to most likely the car.

"No, Seth needs my help."She pushedMiloo away and grabbed a tree branch; she ran. Ki was up, throwing Seth to the ground. Tara ran and hit his head with the stick, it did nothing but break, and Ki turned around and smiled. 

"Oh, little one, that was mean."Ki sia dgrabing ht estik and bring her closer by the waist.She punched his chest, Seth grabbed him, bringing Ki to the ground, and Milo grabbed Tara's arm. 

"That was cool, but we gave to go," Milo said; they started running, and Seth and Ki began to fight again. Seth hits his face and pins him to the ground. 

"You asked for this."Kian kicked Seth's ribs, sending him backward; before Seth could hit him, he transformed into smoke. He looked around to see if he was still there, and he quickly joined back with Tara and Milo. 

"Get in the car."Seth opened the doors, and they got inside. Tara is the passenger next to him. They drove away from the park, and Seth looked at Tara from the corners of his eyes. They parked near a grocery store closer to people than the park.

"So.'Tara broke the scilence.'Are you going to tell me how in the actual fuck did you find me?"

"I know you're going to get upset but hear me out; I was protecting you.

"Protecting me from what."Tara spat out.

"Kian, Kian Lycan is a murderer and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. His next target is you, for some reason."Seth yelled, and Tara stopped at looked at him.

"Seth...I-I'm sorry I didn't know. I would never have talked to him if I knew he killed someone."Tar got quiet and looked down. 

Seth regained his breath; he wiped his face then pushed back his hair."I don't expect you to know about my past, but I need you to know my present so that your future is safe."

Tara looked up at him; her breath got shaky. The last thing she could care about was her future, and she needed Seth to be okay. Tara wanted to be by his side through every challenge he faced. She cared about him. Tara prayed that he couldn't hear her heart beating a hundred miles a second. she held her chest and looked at him. " I want you to. Is it bad to say I want to know everything about you? Even if it kills me because I trust you."

Seth finally figured it out; the whole not scared of anything was an act. She was scared; someone from her past had broken her trust? She was just a tiny little helpless bunny. Tara trusted him; Seth vowed from then on he would always be by Tara's side; he just needed to protect her with every beating heart. Or he'll be the monster Kian said he would be."I never lost my trust in you."Tara wrapped her arms around him. Tara was hugging him. Seth wrapped his arm on her lower back; she was petite next to him, so he picked her up a bit; her feet dangled as they hugged. Tara closed her eye, and relief, folded her body. Seth squeezed her in his arms. 

"I will always protect you, Tara. Nobody will stop me from making sure you are safe."Seth put her down and cupped her face in his hands. Tara smiled as she melted into his touch; butterflies filled her stomach as she turned red. Seth grinned, looking at her a little; he leaned forward, and she leaned back till she hit the back of the car. he turned and whispered in her ear."I can hear your heart beating; calm down, Bunny. The big bad wolf will protect you." He taunts. "Go in the car, angel."

She looked down, eyes wide and blushing out of her mind. she went back to the passenger, buckled her seat, and looked over and saw Milo looking at her, his hands holding his face on the center console."There's only one thing I have to say about that whole conversation'. He pointed to the back, where Seth was smirking and talking on the phone. Tara turned, and Seth was looking at her, and he winked. She turned back and blushed.'Tension, pure sexual tension."Milo smiled, and she looked at him and glared; he sat back quickly."I get why he likes you."

Seth watched as Tara got back in the car; he opened his phone calling his mom."Hey mom, I need some help."

"What happened, Seth."His mom asked over the phone.

"Mom, I'm so lost."Seth's voice shakes a bit.'Kian took Tara, and he tried to hurt her."Seth took a deep breath and looked in the car, and saw Tara looking at him. He winked, and she blushed, looking away. 

"Come over, and I have just the thing to help."He agreed, hanging up the phone and going into the car. He started the engine and backed out of the parking.

"Where are we going now?"Tara asked, looking at Seth. He gave her a side glance and took a deep breath.

"We're going to my parents, and my mom said she has something," Seth said, and Tara looked at him in shock.

"Your mother? I cont go meet your mother, which is so late."She tried to convince him."Just drop me home; that sounds like a much better idea."

"Tara, you'll be fine; it is my mother your meeting. She said she could help."Seth grabbed the steering wheel and placed one hand on her knee, calming he nerves. She looked at him, and he nodded."Please trust me, Bunny."

"I trust you, Seth."Tara sat back in her seat and looked out her window; she started to drift off as the car drove. Milo was on his phone, and Seth kept a hand on her knee. 

They finally came to a stop somewhere in ht forest. Milo got out of the car and hugged Asha, and Seth gently worked up Tara."Bunny, wake up; it's time for you to meet my mother."

Tara mumbled something before getting up and looking around. She saw tall trees and a small garden in the front of the house. Tara turned and saw Seth and gave him a light smile nodding her head and yawning as Tara opened the door and closed it shut.

Seth went next to her and put a hand on her back, and they walked up and saw Milo eating cookies Asha made."Mom, I need to introduce you to my friend Tara. Tara, this is my mother, Asha Amaris."

"It is lovely to get to meet you, dear finally, "Asha said, welcoming her in.
