Chapter Eighteen | Lake House

Seth parked his car in front of the wooden double-decked house. A guy with mid-length black hair that was pushed back in a man bun."That you chief?"Nico asked squinting

"Yeah, get your ass inside; I need to have a meeting," Seth yelled back; Seth heard Milo go and glared at him. "It's important.Understood."Seth walked in and saw a group of women and men all around. He was getting ready for tonight. Nico comes down the steps and brings them in. they see Grant in the kitchen with an apron that says 'kiss the chief' working in the kitchen. "Attention, I'm calling a meeting."Nico rolled his eyes, and Seth sent him a side glare to keep him quiet.

"There have been recent encounters with the Lycan family; we have been through difficulties with them as a pack. But I'm warning you to know—no horseplay. No fights, no heated arguments. We're passed that. Pretend they're human for all I care about, so no fighting the Lycan coveen. So this year, our only boundary is that we can't go to the city. If people see a wolf, it will make them think that we won't want to, and we don't. Understood."Seth's voice shushed everyone else's. When he spoke, everyone looked at him. Milo looked at him around to be his right hand. everyone nodded."Good, get back to what you were doing before."

Seth walked up the step and found a single-bed bedroom with a view of the lake. He put his bag down and laid don't the bed. he rubbed the sleep and let his mind wander.' what was Tara doing. is she safe? I hope she is okay. would she call me if she isn't.no, I made her mad?'Seth wondered until someone knocked on the door; a girl with red braided hair and a red swimsuit was at his door.

"Lily, you know I don't want to be interrupted on days like these. I've been especially not in the mood."

"Stop acting like a sour puss; Sadie got the tire out with the rest of the girls. Where going swimming. get your pathetic alpha ass in some shorts."Lily smacked Seth's head and closed the door. For a delta, she's a real asshole. Seth walked down with his black trunks. Everyone was having a blast. Garfield played music from his truck, and all the girls threw water balloons they hid at the boys. Seth sat in his regular chair close to the water and the group. But in the shade, so nobody would bother him.

Seth's POV

I saw Lupin and Jamie get ready for tonight; they would run all over the forest, usually some parts of the city. Maybe next full moon.' maybe next time I can bring Tara; she would have a blast with them but wouldn't be able to run. God, if only she were a werewolf, I swear she would understand the feeling. The last thing that Tara is is helpless. She's strong and charming and intelligent and kind. Always ready to help someone in need. Always wanting to learn, she was so talented and beautiful. I closed my eyes, leaned against the chair, and fell asleep.

Milo's POV

I see Seth passed out in his usual spot; having a party to celebrate the full moon was a tradition; every generation had thee own party at someone's house. I see the girl lifting the tires. I go with Nico to get stuff ready. When the full moon is at its peak, we all run around to let the energy out; at sunrise, we are all asleep, and nobody gets up till noon, whereas wolves are what we do. Moon run.' Apollo grabs all the candles, and I get the chairs with Nico. e go into the circle where the moon is at its peak and shines its bright light on us. e get all the small stools and set up the candles, and the girls come and drive off some swimming.

Lily walks over to me and places an arm around my neck."Hey bro."

"Sup lily, how's your girl."

"Sadies good; she's helping Grant. Anyway, I'm not here to talk about that. Seth, what's his deal? He's more grumpy than usual."I looked at her; as confusion struck her voice, she looked over at him. e was still asleep in the shade.

"he got a new roommate, and I think he's going through some things with a girl. e doesn't talk that much to anyone."

"Well, jackass, I'm asking his right hand what his fucking problem is."She grabs my ear and brings me closer to her mouth. I wince.

"Cool, it's okay, fines yeah, he's not in the best mood, and I'm worried, but he's gonna come around."I got out of her grip and walked over to Seth; the sun had already set, and we were ready to start.

Seth

Seth woke up from Milo waking him up."Chief's time."Milo stopped when he could see Seth's eyes up.

Seth pushed his hair back and walked over to the group in the middle. Seth looked around as his pack got on in the middle and stood on the stool to look over. This night happens every month, and we all enjoy it like it's the last. It's an honor to be your chief and alpha. And a friend in these times et's enjoy the run and see you crazy in the morning. Seth howled, and the rest of the group fol owed. They all started to transform and run, howling and sm ling. Seth was the last one at the lake house. And looked over at the lake; he had energy and wanted to run with his pack, but Tara was on his mind.

'was the home safe? Why hasn't she texted yet? Why is she ignoring me.' Seth pushed back his hair, his breath started to quiver, and his hand started to shake. e started to run and transform, running back home. e needed to see her and apologize for this morning. e would call Milo later, and he wanted Tara. He ran closer to the roads and started to his place. He could hear his pack howling in joy.

He got home and transformed back; he saw her car in front. "Tara?" he grabbed the door, and it was open. He felt something in his chest; he quickly went inside and searched around; nothing was out of place, but she was gone. "Tara!" he looked around and barged into her room. She must have taken a shower; there were clothes don't on the floor. He walked downstairs, and the back door was open, leading to the patio overlooking the forest. "Tara!"He growled. He went back to the kitchen and saw a note.
